Yes, we had that one day last week with sun, rain, hail, snow, thunder, lightening, rainbows, the works! That's the only thing I can think of that might have thrown them off. I have one guy who's been trying to get eggs from me forever, and we were aiming for him to pick them up this weekend. I had to email him yesterday and tell him I only had 3 eggs. He says he's been working with 5 other folks to get eggs from them, and has heard the same thing from all of them. Something has spooked the birds this week, that's for sure!

One of my linguistics teachers at WSU said that the PNW logger/farmer/fisherman dialect had the highest frequency of profanity of any English Speaking subgroup; I've learned, over the years, to be double-tongued, but on my own and in an unbuttoned state of mind I'm not so tidy.

My kids went to a church school with a high proportion of Midwesterners, so I had to learn to stomp on myself pretty hard for a long time.

The fact that I can't drive a few steel fence posts in sand (not even glacial till, which I'm lucky not to have) is frustrating; being up at 4am so I can take some ibuprofen for the pain from cutting a little wire is maddening.

Especially because I can't find the ibuprofen, again.

It sounds like we have a lot in common. I try to keep a bottle of Ibuprofen by my bedside, for when then pain wakes me up enough that I can't go back to sleep.
