Sounds like you moved next door. Storm hit while I was grocery shopping. Came out with a cart full and ended up chasing my groceries through the parking lot! I'm glad I rounded my hens up and into the coop before the storm hit or I'd be peeling them off the trees and the fence.

one of the chicks pooped on my arm, and it still stinks even though I've scrubbed with lavender soap 3X! Ewww, stinky chicken poops! The broody EE gladly sat on the 6 Cochin eggs, and now that she has real eggs under her, she turned mean again. Hopefully we will have some chicks in 3 weeks. When do I candle and what do I look for?

Try rinsing your arm with vinegar.

Okay the night crew is sleepy.

So I am going to go hang out in the bat cave with all the puppies until the lights come back on again. It's raining cats and dogs here right now. I am going to have high tide in the morning.

DD woke me up this morning, "mom, we have babies. Mom, wake up, we have chicks". So, downstairs to the 'bator...sure enough 3 babies, probably had all hatched within the hour as they are all wobbly and wet. I would guess around 5 am. (she woke me at 6 am). There are 3 more pips. One of the eggs that I was watching last night was moving around (meaning it was doing some rolling from the chick moving inside). This morning there is no pip....I woiuld hae thought there would be one by now. I hope that one did not die.

On another note: Hannah - my momma with the babies - has some diarrhea. Is this her system starting to eat regularly again since she had not ate much from being broody? Is it from eating start and grow? or is it possible for her to have cocci? Should I give her Corid? I am taking NO chances.

Okay, I had thought my roo was 1/2 BR...I thought that was what I was told. I just reasked as I was curioius. He is 1/2 Blue lace bantam cochin and 1/2 Plymouth White Rock bantam. He is purty...but he is a donkey botom.

Tyson (the frozen chicken product - NOT the fighter, although this would fit too):

Hi all! So, I got those 4 new babies, 5 weeks ago, and I think one is sick, maybe neuroligical, blind in one eye, and one might be a cockrel. I am taking both to the vet tomorrow morning. The vet said he would be willing to sex the EE at the same appointment that's for my Blue Wyadotte.

I am so sad, she is my favorite!

I hope there is something they can do, but I don't want her to suffer. So, I may be looking for 1-2 pullets around 6-8 weeks old. I hope someone can help me out here.

I would really like any of the following:
EE
OE
Ameraucana
Blue or Lavender anything(LF)
or a Welsummer.

I am willing to drive a ways, as long as I can make it to and from within the 6 hours the kids are in school.

What is wrong with you people today???
I unplugged it when it was EMPTY.
And the sneaky eggs plugged it back in and crawled inside & locked the door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GET IT NOW????

(And that is my story and I am sticking to it even if DH tortures me)

The egg fairies have been busy, or maybe it was the easter bunny.

THAT is probably exactly how it keeps happening!!
It is my sneaky Buckeroo Buns doing it!!
Now I understand!!

Chick Start N Grow HAS Amprolium in it already and you should NOT give her Corid AND Chick Start N Grow or you will over medicate her.
Yes her system is just "cleaning out"

I don't notice, day to day, but the Boy is only here once or twice a week, and he says it's really noticible to him.
