Wow...less than 1 minute to get caught up! I guess that means I really do have to go in and fold that laundry! No excuses now!

Here's hoping today is a more productive day for me. Yesterday I had just got started building the nest boxes for the new RIR bantam coop. A guy called me to come get his excavator running. Three hours later I was still scratchin my bald head trying to figure out what the problem was. By the time I got back home I had a few minutes to work on the coop then fix dinner and then back to the coop for a bit. I did manage to get the nest boxes done now just have to make a landing in front. Then it will be on to installing the privacy glass windows and roost.

YEAAA!!!! I JUST SAW SWALLOWS!!!! To me, that is when winter is truly over, when the swallows return. Well, they're back! So spring is finally here! I just hope the weather got that memo! It is already 20* warmer today than a couple days ago so there is light at the end of the tunnel!
Sorry for the outburst, can ya tell I'm ready for summer?

I don't know about the apple cider vinegar, if it MUST be the organic "with the mother" stuff, or if the grocery store variety would be good enough -- I found the organic stuff easily on Maui, and the chicks loved the taste -- I have been using the regular stuff here and these like it too

also I think if you add the grocery store variety TO the organic-mother, that it picks up the whatever-it-is that is supposed to be super good

I do know it is a mild antiseptic, good for cleaning things --- also if you add it to their water, it seems to slow or stop the growth of algae and other ickinesses --- it's also useful to rinse through your hair to get the last bit of soap scum out

good for people to drink too, slightly acidifies the urinary tract ... and it actually tastes interesting to me, if diluted sufficiently (a splash in a big glass of water)

I sprayed the "landing platform" in the pen, with ACV, and it seems to have removed the odor of the bleach I used earlier

(also good to get the poo-smell off hands after raking and scooping the coop)
