OMG that must have been terrifying. I hope you are feeling better. Did they look at parasites?
I'm going to my fav. chinese doctor/accupunturist this week. I could ask her if she has a clue. She has been right on, on a very difficult case last time I asked her. Just hard to get folks to believe her sometimes. Too bad.

Please do that to see what she says

mean mean birds.

I think out of all the birds I have around here Starlings are THE single most disliked!

We had a pair come back and rip open an area in my eves, they are now nesting in it. I thought for sure that putting up a new pannel after stuffing the hole they created with steel whool, would keep them out. NO! That didnt work! They managed to get back in there between my double roof! Now there is a nest again. How on earth do I get rid of them!!! I dont even want to think about the mess that will be found once we can get IN that area of the roof... Im sure its full of all sorts of nasty stuff, and cant be good for us.

Am I gonna have to wait until they are done nesting, and try to close it up again more securely? Or is there something I can do about it now?

Are starlings ugly birds? We had some that use to do the same thing.

Yes lemon grass. It is great for preventing cancer. Somehow it is able to cause cancer cells to kill each other.
I like to out a smashed up section of lemon grass in a glass of very hot water and have it throughout hte day.

That is the most awesome news today!!
Lots of lemon grass coming your way.

I'm making coconut lemengrass soup right now, only I did not have time to go to Bellevue/Kirkland for lemongrass paid $5.99 for 4 short pieces (maybe equal to 1.5 stalks from the asian grocery) and $3.69 per can of coconut milk ... I really need to make a trip to the Cash and Carry & Uwajimaya.

Hello all Washingtonians I'm new and just wanted to say hi to my fellow neighbors. This is my first time with chickens on my own. I have helped my father for a few years now and have decided to do it myself. so far so good my 10 chicks are doing well other then the episode of bleeding bottoms from my 4 black sex links. they are now separated from the rest with a chicken wire barrier it seems to be working. freaked me out a bit but no problems. my fatherly intuition kicked in and they are on the road to recovery. They are all going to be 4 weeks on Wednesday and the coop is about to start taking shape this weekend. I just got the wood in today. I'm glad to be here and have a network of such knowledgeable and kind peeps.

Nope no sickness before my liver shut down. But I did travle through 11 states on my way home from Florida. "24 states in total during that move, and then back home again." Maby I came in contact with something nasty when passing through one of the states. We did stop in Oklahoma and stayed a few days in Arizona... We passed through most of the states without spending much more than travle time in them...

Not exactly ugly, but not pretty iether. I do know they are invasive, and very destructive.
