http://bestsmileys.com/signs15/14.gif on your son and his wife.

Just had a near identical conversation with my mom about my brother. Mom brings them food, cleans their house cooks for the grand kids while his wife sits on the couch with her books and a pack of smokes. ... and mom has had 5 back surgeries in the past 3 years. Can't say things are much better here. DH has not given me a birthday present or card for any occasion but valentines since we got married (and then I think it is only for the fringe benefits he hopes to get later). Used to make me very upset, even dragged DH to counseling over it, and then got angrier cause nothing changed and I spent the $ I could have bought my own gift with paying the counselor! Now I just get together with a bunch of girlfriends and about once a year someone will rent a cabin somewhere for a girls weekend away.

I am sorry for both or you. I like the idea of just getting something/or doing something for yourself. Heck with everyone. I hope you both have a nice tomorrow.

When I had my chickens in the kitchen for 3 weeks I shared a piece of banana with them every morning when I made my protein shake. They loved it - no ill effects. I'm always careful about not giving too much, I think the really ripe bananas have more sugar?

Thanks, but I don't let it bother me anymore; haven't for years. It's just the way he operates. I don't think he ignores special occasions to be mean, I don't even think he necessarily forgets. He just thinks gifts and celebrations are for kids. If I give him a wrapped gift, I will find it in his closet, still wrapped months later. If it is not a national holiday, he isn't even going to think of it (though he does not do Christmas gifts either - I just get them or make them and wrap them for the kids.) We got married on July 4 so he could remember the day. Olivia, my preemie, was coincidentally born four years later on July 4. DH always buys fireworks, a cake and gets DD a big mylar balloon. And he's a big softie when it comes to DD and her balloon. When DD turned 3, she got a "Nemo" balloon. We hiked up Rattlesnake Ledge and she took it with her, careful that it did not get stuck on any trees. We tied it to the bike she was learning to ride with training wheels, she took it inside when she ate, she took it to the park and went down the slide with it, then when she was on the swing, the string broks and Nemo floated away. She was soooo upset, sobbing big huge tears and gulping her breath. I called DH who was in town then picking up groceries at the QFC and they happened to have another Nemo. He brought it to her and she was so happy that he found her Nemo!

Robin, you crack me up! I didn't think about that until I had already sent the email....and then I went back and checked my records and I did send 9 eggs.

I do not want to experience Goose broody poo... Yuck! Especially if its worse than the scovies.

Bwahahahahaha! I didn't see all of this conversation, don't know Muscovy or Scovies, but I'm thinking this would be a GREAT name for some home brew: Broody Doody!

Or maybe the name of their compost bags they sell.

Keeping in mind that I am NEW! Sorry for your troubles, there, brother! When I need to talk strickly chickens, I go to the other threads! I hope I'm not off-base thinking this is where I meet my 'neighbors' and talk day to day biz.

Boys club, huh? Been called worse!

I say, bring it!! lol!

That's how I think about this thread, though this is a good place to talk chicken, too.

There's usually 5-10 side stories going on but usually easy to follow once everyone gets to know who is who on here (besides the sheer # of posts). Take what you want from it, leave what you don't, & support the friends around you.

So, I'll put in my 2 cents in hopes that it is just to clarify and not to offend! I respect everyone here and their beliefs and would never purposely hurt anyone.

"Church"(according to the Bible) is not a building. Church is defined as a group of people. 1 Corinthians 12:13,14
Church was (and should be) just people getting together to learn about what God has done for us through his Son Jesus Christ and to praise and thank Him for that.
We(the church) are also supposed to be a support system for each other. Life is hard and we need each other to vent to, ask questions of, and just to tell us we are loved and appreciated and missed when we are not around.
The building is only for convenience. Man has turned it into something it was never meant to be.

I do believe that that in order to support one another that you should meet regularly (Hebrews 10:25) but it should not be about "duty or obligation"; it should be because you want to.
Sorry if I have offended anyone, it was not my intent to do so.

Now,unless someone has Q's, I'll shut-up about it!

I didnn't know how to say all this, you did a good job. I am fairly new as a Christian, but I do find my peace and tranquility in many ways....and one of them is through my chickens. Very entertaining. Also, I still think that God has a sense of humor.

I'm with ya on that one...God has the best sense of humor! People are the living proof!

To all of the moms and moms to be I would like to say Happy mothers day. And for any guys who have attempted to fill in lets just call it happy Mr. Mom's day. I will be making DW a nice breakfast and have part of it cooking now so it can cool overnight.

Tomorrow is the birthday of my mom & dads daughter. I had planned to send her a text just to do my part. But hey she saved me the cost of the free text by calling me !! But of course as usual she was drunk. Thats the only time she calls or texts me. I need to just stop answering her calls.
