Hi! Welcome to our thread and glad you joined in! My DH is a Poultry Leader in our 4-H club but we are in Snohomish County. I suggest you contact your County Extension office and ask them to send you the necessary forms to start a Poultry Project. Also ask them for a list of all clubs near you. Than you can approach the clubs that already exist near you and ask if they would be interested in adding the Poultry Project to their club if you are willing to be the leader for it. If that doesn't work out, then yes, you may want to start your own club. You can start with Poultry and then add other projects in the future or just keep it poultry based. Either option will work. Good luck and have fun!

I had 8 out of 8 of my Lav/Split Project Orp chicks hatch yesterday! So thrilled! Still have to get pics of the fluffy chicks! Then I lock down on Wednesday for a Saturday hatch. I have I think 15 Marans eggs in there plus a couple more Lav/Split Orp eggs and Olive Eggers.

Thanks! Im hoping that they all hatch, but wont start counting until there is some empty shells! But even if 10 out of the remaining 12 hatch, I will be up to 31 birds! lol Funny how that chickens math works huh!?

I know what you are going through. I told my DH 8 would be good. Right now we are at 47 and there are 22 more in the incubator. Granted, alot will be sold but it's never gonna just be the 8 I first planned on!

I am very happy for those of you who are pregnant tho!! I have my twins. I'm good!

Chickielady is the one who swore that I was! (Especially after I dipped my smoked oysters in a onion/garlic mustard!!)

Lol, I figured you'd get a kick out of it nonetheless.

Well I started with 9, all were developing on day 10. At lockdown, one had died. I had them in my Brinsea Octagon Eco until lockdown when they moved to my old LG I use as a hatcher.

I just counted, cause the kids asked me this weekend how many birds we are up to, and I had lost count. We have 43 adult birds between the layer flock and the breeder pens. We have 7 in teenager cage #1 and 10 in teenager cage #2. Then we have 8 in Brooder #1 and 13 in Brooder #2. That is 38 young'uns which = 81 birds!!! That 20 more than I thought we have

.......and I have 3 more batches in the incubators all due to hatch this month!!!!
