OMG........................we are being forewarned about a severe outbreak of West Nile Virus due to the wet wet wet spring....mosquitos will bite, and first people & horses showing up at Hospitals & vets are estimated to be in June/July.
The Horese vaccine takes 4 weeks for the horse to develope immunity, those of you with horses may wanna vaccinate for that now.............

No, we aren't going. DH has surgery scheduled for the 2nd so I will be nursing him along that weekend.

Oh wow, for his back???
Or are you having his elongated soft palette snipped so he no longer snores, unless he sleeps on his back, according to CR, men will always snore when laying on their back

Well, best wishes to you & DH, who drives a bug.
Ogress' DH drives a red bug too..hardtop.
maybe the DH's need to have a BYC bug club.
I think CR's bug is a sandrail!!!

It is APA sanctioned, but the judges have not been announced. I believe that the only marans color recognized by apa is black copper. Don't quote me on that, but I think that's right.

Oh, and we are not going.

Chicken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We can come down there but you won't come up here in my territory??????????

No, for his eyes. He wanted Lasik, didn't qualify for it so they are doing a PRK procedure which is still a laser eye surgery but more painful, longer recovery. And my DH is a big baby when it comes to pain/being sick/blah blah blah......Not looking forward to it! I don't do well with eye stuff.

Ah, yes. But I have a definite, 100% pullet that was born about 2 hours ago.

Aha! I want to see it! I've never seen an Auracana baby before.

ETA - How do you know it's a pullet when it's only 2 hours old?

Illia is a chicken pyschic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have gotten 15 bites in three days....I bought some natural stuff (with no DEET)--supposed to be safe while preggo but apparently the mosquitoes don't mind it.

The horse vaccine works but it's something you have to vaccinate for and then give boosters and you don't want to use it in breeding horses or pregnant mares as it causes birth defects & abortions.

Oh, and we are not going.

The show is APA but not ABA. Bob Anderson is judging. Please, anyone who can come, do. Just bring a bird or two. If this show goes well, it will probably return. If not, this'll be it. This is also a great time for your kids to get some practice fitting and showing before the fair. Don't forget to bring something for the potluck. It should be a low key fun day with poultry people.

Raffle ? I am the world's best raffle donater.
I will not go to any potluck as I am celiac...unless I am among trusted frinds.
I think I will enter my Java Cockeral despite his cut, and maybe the AOB choice, blue copper hen.
I also have fannnnnnnnnnnnnnnntastic feather shanked cuckoo marans (yippee the french cuckoo is BACK!!) but that is not recognised either.
Yet it is minutes from me. So I guess I will go.
I want the show to stay here.
My N is sticking.................it is getting so bad that I think I need a new keyboard.
