I haven't seen Bubble Bath before: cute! Gertrude Jeckyll is a reliable producer and has a good reputation for disease resistance.

Lyda Rose is a modern shrub rose; it resulted from open pollenation in our kind of farm- free-ranging chickens and not much formal order. It seems to be a Hybrid Musk, genetically, which means very little because those roses were also pretty much just what the breeder liked without much attention to record keeping. It blooms and blooms and is very fragrant. It's not too huge- mine was about 6" tall at its peak and not rampant. HOWEVER: in general, you're location will produce roses 2-3 times as tall as mine; I have lots of dry wind in the summer.

Also, there's Sally Holmes which is one of the real triumphs of recent rose growing: bigger in every way than Lyda Rose, with huge trusses of pink-to-cream single flowers that make it look like a rhododendron from a distance. Not as fragrant as Lyda Rose, though.

Check out Golden Wings, which is also at Rogue Valley; it's a nice, nice rose although mine has had way too many run-ins with rabbits and needs replaced.

Golden Wings in my garden, June 2008, in the best shape ever here. I have really sandy soil, no northerly wind protection, and too many irons in the fire, in general.

Yeah, I have one of those in a propagation pot on my front porch, which I need to get potted on or in the ground. They are charm itself in person, velvety foliage and satiny fragrant petals.

I am going to find one & buy it for in front of the porch or under the kitchen window.
Should be just the right height to see the very top of the bush.
I really like the bubble bath & the brown rose climber too..now I cannot make up my mind.
Too many roses, kinda like beads & chickens..........
I been weed wacking and am all itchy now so I am off to the shower, later guys!
