My New Hampshire hen sometimes crows. She was Queen of the Coop, but has been happy to pass that duty on to the Black Orpingtons. She's quick to defend them too when the Barnevelder tries to challenge the orpingtons for King of the Coop.

Yeah, I am hoping for my Cockerel to grow up big and strong and bring a little order to the coop. But I am sure it will bring mor drama too for a little while. Whew! THis pecking order thing is for the birds!

Well I am sure they are adorable and will be fabulously beautiful adults. I want to see pics of the splash as babies and full grown. The English are all gorgeous no matter what color! Are you still collecting from One and Two for future hatches? Going to try again?

Well Kim I hate to burst yer bubble but ROOSTERS CROW !!!! Maybe that is why the 2 "look like" they are fighting !!!! Here I have a simple rule. IF IT CROWS IT GOES !!!!! I do have a roo in each coop but any more than that have to go.

My Marans is 2 years old and lays beautiful dark brown eggs! That is why I was so suprised! Lol!

I watched a British show that talked about how if the hen has an ovary stop functioning, she will start to change into a rooster. If both stop working, she completely becomes a rooster. Wild!

Got name picked out?

Hrmm... I'm thinking Madelline may no longer work for Baby.
Any suggestions?

After 2 girls, we found out we were expecting twins and one was a boy. A good friend told me to forget college and start saving for a hospital/jail fund!

By the time he was 2 yes old, he had broken and rebroken his nose 3 times and broke a leg. Oh yeah, he also had shocked himself 3 times trying to plug in the vacuum for me!
Boys are a hoot!

Well she is still laying, but I am really tired of the broody thing that keeps happening to her and my Ameraucana. They just get so grumpy that I want to kick them. I probably doesn't help that I am PMSing too. It's just that these two have been a problem from the start. VERY high maintainence. I am seriously thinking of puting them on craigs list.
