There may be trends but who knows what will happen in your family? My one and only girl was the easiest pregnancy, (no morning sickness or illness for me ever). She was planted firmly on her bottom before birth so she was a scheduled c-section which for me was pretty much "get a shot, instant baby". Then when she came home she would sleep for 3 hours, wake up to eat, then go back to sleep for another 3 hours, waking up only once every night. At 5 weeks she slept through the night. She has always loved naps. She turned 19 this past week and after being a straight A student during her entire high school academic career she made the President's Honor Roll her first year of college. She has never been a party girl, but she is a lot of fun and has a great sense of humor. She just called me from Mt. Vernon where she has been invited to stay the weekend with her first boyfriend's parents, (who I'm hearing have a very ritzy house on a mountain surrounded by a moat?)
She's very organized in her work life and academic life, but I have to tell you - her room is a mess!

Her Dad and I take no credit for how she's turned out. If anything I would have to say our dysfunction was the reason she turned out as well as she did. I think when she was born she took a look at us and thought, "Well someone around here is going to have to take charge." I feel like I'll be well taken care of in my old age - after she writes that tell-all book about me that is.

Have a wonderful rest of your pregnancy. Enjoy that baby now and after he's born!

Got name picked out?

Hrmm... I'm thinking Madelline may no longer work for Baby.
Any suggestions?

What's wrong with Nelson?

My Marans is 2 years old and lays beautiful dark brown eggs! That is why I was so suprised! Lol!

I watched a British show that talked about how if the hen has an ovary stop functioning, she will start to change into a rooster. If both stop working, she completely becomes a rooster. Wild!

I thought chickens only had one functioning ovary; the left one.

And I tired of things in my life that are high maintainence. I can take it to a certain point, but then it's just like forget it.

Oh, and by the way everyone......you should see the chicken condo that Ron has going on now! Seriously! He has 4 and if neccessary 5 coops!!! Totally jealous!!!

So, I wonder why a hen would crow and lay? Interesting!
