ya selling eggs do not make money unless you have a LOT of chickens.
Thats why I sell chicks and quail chicks as well. that at least pays the feed bill.

Too bad avatar pictures can't be the size they are in your link .... all this time I have been reading VelvetFrog!!!! ... and I was wondering what it was in reference to. I tried googling it, but only found a kids furniture store. Maybe it woud help if I put on my glasses a little more often instead of leaning close in to the screen and squinting.

I bought me a thermometer with giant numbers on it and hung it on the coop where I can see it from here. It is in the upper 40's right now.

Yesterday when I drove past the river, I saw a few teenage girls walk up from the bank and into town wearing bikinis and carrying their flip flops. Geeesh, you'd think it's summer. It was 56 out!

I like this one better -- I'll switch it around when I get home from work.

That's my favorite EE. I call her Ladyhawk. She's the only one of my flock who enjoys being picked up.

Spiders in my house - die. I figure (in my small mind) that they have had the comforts of warmth and cushy and fresh food from inside....so if I let them free outside....they will just come in. I tell everyone I have a tiny little sign at spider level (whatever level that may be) to stay out or else (input skull and cross bones here). Inside spiders die. Outside spiders (who follow the rules) live.

ETA: Glad you found the culprit

Did you take the name from the movie "Ladyhawk"?
That was one of my favorite movies from younger years!
