oh boy!!! I think it's cute when they finally figure out the roost, I have quite a few youngsters and they are always pushing each other off it's pretty comical!!

Unfortunately, Bjorn, the biggest cockerel, has also figured out the "pretend you're a Redtail and pounce onto your brother while he's eating" game. If I had anywhere to move him, he'd be getting a time out.

This sounds like a special case application of Smith's General Law of Home Decor: There are never enough bookcases.

You can also get a lot of other junk there too. We buy eggs that are right at 3 dollars a dozen and I would say that it is not as good as the local small 'farms' that you guys operate. They still feed their birds with junk feed and are crammed in there.

Free range "Home raised" eggs contain:
1/3 LESS cholesterol
1/4 LESS saturated fat
2/3 MORE vitamin A
2 times more Omega-3 fatty acids
3 times more vitamin E
7 times more beta carotene
4 to 6 times more vitamin D
Details and research are available at: MotherEarth.com/eggs

And lots of love that the store "factory" eggs are lacking !!!!

Oh my gosh! How does he ever expect you to choose?
Very sad!

Hope it's not too hard for you to decide!
My DH hardly ever lays down the law with me. But as I was getting the coops ready he just kept asking, "How many different kinds?" "How many different kinds???"
He knows me all too well! It's just so hard to narrow down the choices!

Well today I FINALLY got the new RIR B coop done enough that they could move in. So here are some pics. Now Keep in mind that it still needs to bre painted, trimmed have the interior lights and porch light. I know it is not as nice or as fancy as some of you have but also keep in mind that I have less than $20 in the whole thing. The coop is 5x6 the covered areea is 7x10 and then all of the run. Total space they only have 883 sqf. Will that be enough for 3 RIR B hens and (hopefully) a roo soon.
THis shows the RV window that I saved to put in the end. It will be covered with hwc.

sliding Pop door controlled by a rope at the front door.

Nest boxes built into the wallThat is under the covered outside run.

Again, I'm very impressed with the talent and ingenuity of my fellow BYCers!
Great job CR! I know because of your other coop that it will be very nice when all done!
