The only thing she sells in smaller than split halves is burger (dry aged, single animal source, low fat, hand processed) and I don't know what she's got right now; I'll PM you her number in a minute. They just got back from taking off for two days for their twentieth wedding anniversary, so tomorrow might find her less over-loaded.

ok

It sounds like your young Roo is really something, I think roos are just so gorgeous!

welll -- he may need rehoming --- remains to be seen, so far no neighbors have complained about crowing (he doesn't do it often, and is cooped up until a reasonable hour in the morn --- and he has just started getting "interested" in his pullet flock

Nope haven't heard. They said they should know by friday and since I didn't get a call am guessing that I didn't get it. Why ya letting the real estate lic go? I would think it a good thing to keep unless it is too expensive. I have kept all of my licenses / certs. mostly so I don't have to pay $$$ to retest. See with the weld test it is a matter of pay $125 (for each process) weld a gap closed then cut a slice out and they bend it in half. If there is more than 1/16" tear you fail. Then ya get to pay $125 again and retest. Not an easy test and I have 3 process certs.

WABO? AWS? ASME?

TIG, FCAW, SMAW?

Steel, aluminum?

certified aircraft ?

Thank you CR....have you heard on your job? I am going to hate informing the Vet clinic that I am quitting....they have been so good to me, but they had encouraged me to keep my real estate license in case the economy got better and I wanted to go back to it. I know they will understand and will be happy at the opportunities that this job has for me...still hate leaving it. OH, btw, hanging up the real estate license.

I wil put it on in active for now....but I can only do that for a few years. Right now it is costing me $125 a month for the office. $180 x4 a year for the northwest multiple listing service. $150 a year for the supra key. $500 a year to be a Realtor (which John L. Scott insists you have to belong to). $400 every two years to renew my license...not including the classes I have to take to renew the license. It is very expensive. I am not enjoying it right now....very depressing. I said when I stopped enjoying I would quit. A lot of sadness and angry people with selling houses right now - because of the economy. I am also tired of people calling me at 7 pm and yelling at me as to why their house is not selling (they wont lower the price) or why can't they buy the house they want (they have 150k and the house is selling for 200k - their response - it is a buyers market they should lower the price. Um excuse me, the sellers don't have to lower the price if they don't want to). I am just not cut out for this. I really had fun with the first time home buyers - their excitement, the fun of finding them their first place. I was a good realtor....I worked hard for my clients.

It is just too expensive and I want the bennefits. I will leave the RE license in limbo for a couple of years - I do not have to pay any dues with it on hold.

ETA: Sorry, sound like I am rambling. I just feel crummy - sick. Plus today at the swim meet I got sun burnned. That is not helping much either.

Got a sick chick again. Head hanging. beak laying on ground. Brought her inside and will be trying to get some fluids down her. They had plenty of water. A few of the Orp chicks got through a spot into where the older chicks are (who are starting to crow) and I thought may have got beat up. Today was hot, Orps were locked on their side....I don't know if she is a bit dehydrated or what...but I have her in the house watching her. I will be forcing fluids with a Monjet syringe. I hope she is gonna be okay. I am really liking these silly Orps.

help? I feel stupid posting this but I'm sick and brain dead and google wasn't my friend(probably because of medicine head)...anyway...I posted in the faverolles thread to....my salmon favs cheeks have turned red. Yesterday they were creamy colored but now red. Is she sick? am I paranoid? normal? a glitchy chicken?

cool!!

Jbear: Thanks. I will miss the vet office, just because I love what I have learned and all the animals. This job is just too good to pass up.

Hey there again all.

Been a LONG time since I've been here (well, long as in comparison to my usual breaks of, umm, a couple hours? a day?)

Anyway, since tonight I've actually got little enough to do - I feel it is time I finally take a stop by here and say hello.

I believe you've heard I thinned my flock, was a very hard thing and also easy thing to do (hard to choose who to get rid of, easy to actually sell them) I've also got no more goats or even my Yak. Yep, no Yak. Although I'd love to think the new owner of the Yak is on this forum!

Beyond that, LOTS of work on the farm gardening. . . . I'm even growing bananas. This here is one of my many beloved babies, a "Musa mahoi" also known as the double Banana, for unlike most plants who produce only one bunch, this one produces two to three. This baby grows rampantly, with a new and bigger leaf each week. Below at the base are little "pups," suckers who will also grow to be banana trees in the future. This photo was taken about a week ago, and the plant has already uncurled the current leaf sticking out and developed 1 more leaf since then. This banana plant will grow to be a small 6 feet tall, while my other varieties will grow to the height of the top of the greenhouse (12-13 feet)

I'm also enjoying a bounty of heirloom tomatoes, corn, beans, peppers, melons, watermelons (to my surprise, growing and producing like CRAZY) tomatillos, eggplants, figs, and more - All in my brand new greenhouse!

( This photo was taken months ago, as you may tell from the Elderberry flowers )

The greenhouse is practically growing out of control, and though it is a lot of daily work, plus the rest around the farm, I'm loving it.

(most of the time)

So, how's everyone else? And how's peoples' gardens?
