Thanks for all the photos of the coop tour, I would have loved to have gone, but I don't like looking for addresses in an area I am not familiar with. I got lost coming home from Pacific today (I picked up feed and the pork). I exited to 18 too soon and ended up at the Super Mall. I HATE malls, so I went back out to 167 only to find out that the onramp goes over the offramp I needed to get from 167 to 18, so I took the next exit, but SB 167 was not moving, so I drove through Auburn trying to find 18 and somehow ended up at Green River College! Somehow I made it to nearly Covington before I found 18.

I love all of Illia's and CL's garden photos too. I was feeling really proud of mine and was thinking of posting photos until I saw those! I won't embarrass myself by posting. Garden looks like poop today - my hens found the hole that my dogs put in the temporary fencing, so they went in and dug a lot up.

My tomatos and tomatillos are in the banty run/greenhouse, and they are growing well with a few small fruits. Cucumbers are also doing well. The Banties stripped all the leaves from the basil and pepper plants, but they had been growing nicely. Out in the garden, the hens stripped all the green strawberries from my plants, then dug up the plants. Celery, chives, rosemary, sage and marjoram are doing well. 2 cabbage plants may survive the attack of the hens.

Chickens are doing well. They should be with all my fresh produce they are consuming.

Here is Alex with Serius Black:

Whenever Alex and Olivia toss anything back and forth in the yard, many for the chickens run back and forth underneath them, hoping it is an apple they will drop:

Love those silver-and-stone beads, all of them are... tempting but those are the ones which have set me off on a Quest for Beads...

Those are from Tibet. I love them too, but they cost a bit more (that little handful of 10 beads was $20), so I just bought a few to play with until I can figure out something I like.

omg I will take some pics of waylon tomorrow...he is just over 2 months old and he can look me in the eye. his back is elbow height already. he is going to be a big strappin colt. he does have some attitude. shakes his head in irritation when pressure on the halter. but he does give and is starting to walk with me. I left a drag line on him today so he can step on his rope and get used to the pressure, he can be irritated and flip his head all he wants when he steps on the rope lol eventually he will figure it out.

When it comes to that, I like to have some sort of bungy between the lead line and the halter. That way, when they pull, it is softer pressure, and will teach them to give to a lighter pressure. Rather than having just the rope, that will gaive a hard jerking pressure on the halter. This has always worked wonders for me. I do almost the same thing when teaching them to stand tied. Prada was bad at standing tied without pulling... Too and old tube from a bicycle tire, looped it through the tie ring on my trailer, and then let her sit tied to the bungy on the trailer. She no longer rears, gives to the slightest bit of pressure, and almost stands quietly. lol I say almost because she will pace while tied. Prada also will lounge by hand signal alone, or voice, with or without a whip. At least for me anyway, she doesnt respect my sister like she does me.

This K button is driving me nutty... Im constatly going back and fixing words...

for tying up yes to an inner tube. dragging a line, wont hurt him. he needs to get over the tug on his head, he shows his little temper when there is pressure on the halter when I am leading him. ear pinning with a shake of the head...lol sorry big boy get over it. spoiled I guess. he will be gelded before he is a year I bet lol. I put a short lead rope on him, just long enough he can step on it with his front feet. take it off at night or when I am not home. he has only had one lesson with a butt rope, after that I would pull him side to side with his halter and when he took a step I would let go so no pressure.
now if you would like to take on a mini mule you just let me know. he is wearing a halter, but does not lead nor can you touch him. yep you just let me know when you want a big challenge lol

These https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/25179_261943_10150219890352081_704822080_7092738_5524948_n.jpg are some beads a friend of mine makes. You like ?

I LOVE lampwork, something I have always wanted to learn! I bought the beads in this bracelet I made from Farmer Dave in Portland. It has far too much bling for me to wear, but always draws in people at shows until they look at the price. I paid nearly $100 for the lampwork in it and the remainder is Swarovski Crystal, sterling silver, and vintage pressed glass, and people offer me $50 for it. I dn't make stuff to sell in that range anymore. The green bracelet in the other photo is also one I only do as gifts - I peyote stitch each of those tube beads from 40 seed beads, and there are 24 of those beads! Again, the remainder is swarovski and sterling silver. Someone offered me $35 for it. That is less than the materials. I even told her so. I ended up trading one like it for one hour of my daughters harp lessons. Took me 8 hours to make it. I wouldn't dream of bartering down her rate for lessons, yet so many people fell that they should get something I made for less than the materials used, and then they will turn around and buy someting from the Silpada catalog for twice what I ask!

LOL Im good on the mini mule! I'm already woring with a little mini jac, and boy is he truly a challenge! I wish his owner would just geld him and get it over with! Same client owns Nickers, the jack, and the pony that had started to founder! This older couple run a petting zoo / pony rides... And well, she pays me to pretty much take care of her horses and to remind her when the horses need something more than food... So yeah. Im good on the mule! lol Donkeys and mules are an entire diferent world!

Editing to add an after thought! lol

I will however be more than willing to go out and see him in the field if I ever get out that way. I do love a challenging critter. Every four legged animal here is a challenge. Tegan is a head case Welsh pony, Lacy is a cranky hussy of a mare, Prada is a baby, Red is agressive, and nickers has "issues."

This is something else I do for a little pocket change:

Personalized photo coasters.
Sells better and no one tries to barter the price. My friend displayed them at a fitness club for a day and I got a bunch of orders from that 3 years ago, including one multiple repeat client - a succesful realtor who orders a set of 4 with a display stand for her clients every time she closes a deal. I've not put them back out anyware because I can't find good quality marble tiles anymore. They either have pits in their surface or they chip too easily. When Lowes decided to stop carrying them, I bought up all they had, but I am down to my last 2 boxes.

How's the stink today?

When I was a teen in Cali, the boy next door was hiking in the hills behind our houses when he got sprayed. He saw me strating up the trail, and instead of being a nice guy and warning me, he ran downhill and gave me a great, big, smelly bear hug

That stuff is thick and sticky, and so hard to get off! I tried soaking in a tub of diluted v-8, but that did not help much. I finally got it off with toothpaste and a scrub brush! Removed quite a bit of skin as well. Hopefully you have found an easier way to get rid of the odor.

My first car , "The Bondo Queen", got nailed in collge. Everyone had to get in by piling through the driver door. It can't be hosed off. (The Bondo Queen was a stripped down beige 84 ford escort with no radio that I bought from a 90 year old patient of my mothers after his gradson took the keys away and brought gramps to a nursing home. I'm not sure what he hit, but the entire left side of the car seemed to be made of bondo.)

Okay, I'm talking to myself here and am beginning to bore myself. Unfortunately, i know nothing of horses so I won't join that conversation. As a teen I wanted nothing more in life than to own my own horse. I still like horses, but not like I did back then.
