So speaking of goats, anyone know if goats will eat rhodies? I know that rhodies are bad for goats, I just wonder if the goat knows they are bad & will stay away from them naturally? Just a question my husband asked me & I didn't know.

Shannon

Many goats are very fond of rhodies. And sadly rhodies can kill them.

Thanks CR. I did know about rhodies killing them. I grew up in 4-H in dogs, 11yrs in but use to walk all the fair barns almost 14yrs ago. We all had to do up posters about what we were showing. I remember going through the goat barn & seeing a poster about rhodies being very bad for goats. I just didn't know if they were smart enough to stay away naturally or not. I guess they are not.

Well I am trying to keep 4!

I will end up having 3 black females and 1 blue male. Now the only problem I have is...... we only have 2 diapers and 4 ducks!!

I get scraps from the produce guy at our grocery every so often, and there is always a few strawberries in them, and my birds will not eat them.
They also refuse to eat carrot peelings, or carrots of anykind, like in leftover stew or soups I give them.
Weird, huh ?
Anyone's chickens eat any kind of carrots ?

Nope! Never! They leave them everytime! Picky little buggers.

Tie it back together, it may survive. I had a small pear tree that ran over with the riding mower it broke off a couplke inches above the ground and was really splintered, I dragged the top 5' quite a ways away with the mower. I cleaned it up, put it together, splinted it and wrapped it with gauze and tied it to a support post. Initially the leaves died, but then it sprouted a bunch of new growth and the tree is doing fine 5 years later.
