How old are they?
I think the Barnvelders are around 22 wks old, maybe up to a week older. My cuckoo marans are roughly 26 wks old, so it could be them....will have to wait and see until they all start laying!
I got 3 Am's from CL that were all different ages. I'm guessing the oldest is around 22-23 wks also, but I may be off as that was just a guestimate. It may also be that my Lav Am has started laying, but she's almost a year. The girls tell me she layed while I was back east for 3 wks in March and then promptly quit when I got home, so I have never seen an egg out of her. I just moved her into my layer flock a few wks ago, and she seems to have taken a high seat in the pecking order since the move, so maybe she started to lay? So I honestly don't know for sure if it's her or CL's birds, but just assuming it's CL's cause I think my Lav Am is a dud.
