Yeah, that's a useful kind of hanging basket hook. My favorite one is from the blacksmith shop at the Puyallup Fair, which has a base like a vine leaf.
Oh, boy, another quiet day, I guess. I need to get the first round of chores done and then spend a couple of hours dealing with my feet and back and other bits of me that need soaked and scrubbed and anointed with soothing lotions.

another thing to recycle, repurpose, is the support usually seen in closets, which has a sturdy, though utilitarian looking hook (where the closet rod would go) and a wide support where the closet shelf would go ... these show up in thrift stores fairly often; I think people discard them when they get the newer white plastic-coated wire shelving (which is not as sturdy, which sometimes collapses)
I hadn't thought, but I have several lantern-hanging hooks, left over from when I was going to black-powder rendezvous -- they've been holding often-empty wild-bird feeders up on the balcony, but would be good also for hanging a waterer for the chickens
since stupid chicks STAND in the water and get it sandy and contaminated with wherever their feet have been

I'm here. I just haven't anything to say. I'm driving over to Ellensburg today for my sister's birthday.
The spitz eggs are due to hatch in about a week. Several of the eggs I put under Carmen are developing. I hope for her sake that some hatch, and she's a good mother. She's been sitting so faithfully.
Just popping in for a quick hello! It's my oldest DD's 16th B-day today! My how time flies! DH took her and her BFF and my other two girls to Wild Waves Saturday. I think that was the first day I've had the house to myself since school got out. What did I do? Cleaned it! And then we've picked and frozen 5 1/2 gallons of raspberries this weekend. Planning to make jam Wednesday I think when the rain comes back.
Today I am cooking a Ham at her request for dinner, and they are all going to see the new Harry Potter movie tonight.
On the chicken front, we FINALLY moved the Serama's into their new coop. So I have an open teenager grow out pen that needs cleaning and then everyone needs to shuffle into a clean pen. Starting that today. Not sure how far I'll get though with the b-day things going on.
And, one more try on my rooster list. I know everyone has a surplus, but here goes anyway. I am offering these up FREE to fellow BYC'ers and I don't care if they go in your freezer, breeding pen or whatever. Here they are:
1 Lavender Orp Roo - 11 months
1 barred Olive Egger Roo - 18 wks
2 mostly blackish Serama Roo's - 11 wks
2 Crele Old English Game Bantam Roo's -11 wks
1 Black 75% English Orp Roo(Hoss from RedReiner is the Daddy who is 100% English) - 11 wks
2 or 3 (I forgit?
) Black split Orp Roo's = 10 wks
1 Black feather legged Marans Roo = 9 wks
2 Splash feather legged Marans Roo's = 9 wks
6 Barred Olive Egger roo's = 8 wks
2-3 BLRW roo's (blue or splash) = 5 wks
1 or 2 (sure on one of the chicks, maybe have a 2nd) Blue English Orp Roo's = 3 wks
Then I have some extra cochin bantam chicks, looking to rehome 9 of them. These are mostly blue, possible a few black and are all split for Lavender. These are 3 weeks old and I will charge $5.00 a chick for these but they are SUPER CUTE!!!
I also am looking to sell my Lavender Orp's. I have 3 hens that will be a year old at the end of August and they are laying up a storm right now. I can give you your choice of a Lavender Roo or a Split Black roo to go with the girls. $50 for the little flock. I have my new Black Split F1 hens I want to move in with Oscar my Lav Orp roo that I am keeping and these need to go!!!
Must lower our feed bill. Whatever doesn't go, will go in the freezer if I can't give them away. Will list some for free on Craigslist soon, as I don't need this much in the freezer!!!
On another front, the Snohomish Country 4-H Poultry Program will be having a fundraiser this Saturday at Del's in Monroe. Car wash and bake sale from 10:00 to 4:00! We'll be there in the afternoon, but please stop by!!!
PM me if interested in anything on my list!!! Hope everyone is out enjoying that sunshine today!!!!
I've had an empty bathtub with a grab bar installed since last Thursday, and today was finally able to take advantage of the wonders of a long soak in hot water and epsom salts. Not only was it markedly easier to get OUT of the tub than it had been to get in, my back has ceased itching for the first time in eons.
Not a trip to Carson Hot Springs, but better than anything I've done recently.
I think that was chicks4gramma? I don't remember her screen name correctly, but she lives near me. Did you need to get in touch with her? only reason I remember (or think I remember is because those waterers where in Buckley....)
buckly is kind of far for me so I will go back to craigslist to see if I can find something else
