The Icelandic chicks decided to have a fanny-picking party yesterday.
At their young age!!
Each and every one of them pecked each and everyone of their fannies...ever so slightly before I caught them !!
Then we had a preparation H party, and after that the white light was removed, and a red light bulb put in.
Picky little boogers!!

Diane (Boldogkennel) has the other half of this Icelandic hatch.
We went in halfsies.

This funny on a car parked next to us at a store:

The slug went round & round, then down on the wiper & went to sleep.
Wish I could have been there when the guy turns on his wipers on the freeway in a monsoon.....probably break the wiper, slugs can stick pretty good, and they will never get the slime off...ever!

everyone is doing well, I was thinking that I'm kinda glad, cause it gives me a definite reason for getting up early, chickens you can slide a little except if you have babies, all I do is feed and water at night and I can sleep in, which for me is like 7. I'm getting the hang of it and I really like the fresh does I bought they are turning into nice girls, they just had to get used to us and moving and back in the game of being on the milkstand!

Actually this isn't true because she is having a girl who may someday get married & change her last name. Now if it was a boy then yes you would want it to sound good with a last name because his name won't change.

true, however I have known girls who got married very early, just so they COULD change their surnames

Olive Green .... LOL ! she should have had a middle name but didn't

Shanda Lear (actually she liked the name .... )

Bhronwen Nishikawa (cultural clash !)

Sandy Hill

Halva Foote

What a difference a day makes.

Follow the link in my signature block. My coops are for sale. They are 8x10 and 6x12. The 6x12 is divided into 3 'apartments', but it would be easy enough for you to remove the wire and make it one unit. The 8x10 is on skids. and is massive heavy.

Here is a pic of some of my peas...Oregon Snow (sugar pod pole peas) are giving me 2 gallon a day, despite Jack running through both rows & ripping up half the plants !

BD you MUST plant some ...now is still OK as the weather is cool & wet and the peas love it!!
So good in salad fresh or stir fry!
I blanch breifly & freeze in sandwich bags that we can have a portion whenever we want some.

Yes we have neighbors I use the word lightly behind us that more than likely complained. I asked the officer he said someone complained. I got rid of the rooster and we will see if that is good enough. If not I might get new fangled braclets that need a key. I hope not though I have never been in trouble before but we just started to get eggs this week and they are my girls and pets. Lets hope they can be good neighbors so I can be a good neighbor ;-)

Argh. That sucks. Do you suppose someone complained? I hear of people near me having chickens when the zoning technically doesn't allow it, and nobody says anything (though that might not always be the case).
