Really !!!! ? And what little town might that have been. Maybe Wishram, Lyle, Rowena, Mosier or something farther down the creek.

further west ... darned if I can remember where Diane was from ... west of Cathlamet I think

(on the Oregon side)

Clatskanie? Four houses and a pulp mill?

jump across the river, it's in Oregon, whatever it is ...

Diane was one of the very few female students in the Agriculture program at Oregon State ... we teased her about manure on her boots

looked it up on Google Maps, she was from Knappa ....

AH! I saw a huge flock of tundra swans on a marsh just out of Knappa once.

I finally succeeded in sleeping in today: too bad I didn't want to at all! I was supposed to have a bunch of photos edited, a poster made, and three thousand words written.

Not today, I guess?

Whew! Finally caught up with 4 days of posts. I've been at Ocean Shores since Thursday morning hosting my annual "Actor's Retreat" which I think has gotten too large and out of control. Instead of reading scripts this year it just turned into 4 days of constant eating, drinking, beaching and too many late nights. I'm going to rethink and restructure if I host at all next year. The group grew to 12 people this year, to the point that we had to use my uncle's house next door for the extra bedrooms/bathroom.

Missing my chickens. I hope DH and DD have been taking good care of them. We've had some beautiful sunny days here on the coast and I understand it's been hot in town.

Haven't posted much lately. I'm stage managing the first show of the season at Tacoma Little Theater which opens on Sept. 2nd, so I've been spending a lot of time at the theater for auditions, callbacks, production meetings, etc. Rehearsals begin this week which will have me at the theater 5 out of 7 days per week, then every weekend when it opens as that's when the director hands running of the show over to the stage manager. The show is "The 25th Annual Spelling Bee of Putnam County", a funny musical with adults playing young spellers roles with a lot of improvisation involving 4 audience volunteers for every performance that will be chosen by me before each show. It's going to be a lot of fun - so if you're in the Tacoma area at all during September and enjoy live theater...?

Also, remember a couple of weeks ago I said I was going to see the Monkees in concert and was going to meet them after the show? So, it only took me 45 years, but I finally met Mickey Dolenz, (and Peter, and Davy). We had awesome seats, 2nd row, center. We were only a few feet from the front of the stage. I was close enough to see firsthand that without a doubt, yep, we are ALL 45 years older. Those guys are all in their mid-60's now, but they sounded great!

Here's the pics from the party after - I did get my photo taken with Davy Jones as well, but it's not on my computer yet.

That kind of heat is hard for Washingtonians to wrap their brains around. At least the westsiders.

I lived in the Tri-Cities for a few years, I can wrap my head around those temps. I am just glad that I no longer live outside of Houston. I looked finally managed to look up the heat index for 95 degrees and 98% humidity, which is what they have for about 8 months of the year there. . . 165-172 degrees. My sister went to Pheonix during August when the temp there was about 125, she was happy to be able to drive around with the top down on her convertible rental car. The natives thought she was nuts!

Oh I'm so sorry!!! We used to get temps like that in the Tri cities and sometimes in the Valley. It hasn't been like that here in a while tho. We don't have the humidity so it doesn't usually feel quite as hot. oh my gosh it is raining HUGE drops!! and the goats are all crying!!! They are out in the field under a tree!!! LOL they have a place for shelter?? Silly goats!!
