Sorry, no dunes for us. We are going to Biose. It supposedly has the biggest water park in the PNW. We promised the kids if they read the whole Bible over a years time that we would take them to whatever water park they chose. So we checked all in the PNW and Boise won.
We have rented a house that has horses that can be ridden and groomed so the DDs are stoked! There are all sorts of other things to do as well. So we are going to make a week of it.
That's why I have been so scares on here lately. This is the first looooong trip we have ever taken with all the kids. Looks like 8-10 hours of drive time with potty stops and food breaks.
Packing for 8 people takes a lot of brain power! I can't believe I got it all to fit in the back of the car!
So, anyway, I'll probably be hit and miss for the next little while. Gonna be having fun in the sun!

I bet that would be silverwood. And given the length of yer trip will be nice give me plenty of chance to test all yer cickens and return any that I am not reeal fond of.

Well, there is supposed to be a strictly 'water' park in Boise that has more water rides than Silverwood but not as many regular rides. I guess we'll find out when we get there!
Your welcome to come over and teach my Cuckoo roo about the different kinds of 'CAMP' cause he has, in the lat couple of days, decided to become a JERK!!! Started chasing the kids! So I think he needs to be tutored!

Gosh I should of made arrangements for you to bring me chicken from 4h Mama. Middle son says that the water park is called boulder beach...... Silverwood and boulder beach are 2 separate parks But you can get group tickets.

Last week I traded my 3 Barnie chicks that had big combs thinking they were roosters. The lady didn't think 2 of them were roosters but I didn't want to chance it. I really miss them because they had learned to come running with the big hens to see if I had treats when I came out to the back yard. I did get 2 for sure pullets from her but they had barely been out of her house for 1 week. They are about 7wks, my 1 pullet is 8wks. They had no clue how to roost & could care less who I was. I have been a little sad about this. I went out tonight to shut the door after everyone put themselves all away. I looked in on the pullets & was totally shocked that my favorite Silver Lace who had gone broody decided to take over these chicks care. Maybe she will teach them to be like my big girls so I can like them better. It was pretty cute.

Susie... what was you grandma's name? My mom's family moved into the Okanogan in the early 1900s. She being the youngest of 9, there were and still are quite a few of my aunts, uncles, and cousins in the area. It's always fun telling her I bumped into so-and-so's kids.

ETA... oops, just found your later post with the name

What were your grandparents names?

Nichols road got it's name from my Aunt and Uncle!

Carolynn:

My great-grandparents were Caroline and Charles Johnson. Charles worked for the railroad and was killed in a car accident going up the hill to the Flats in about 1918. He left his widow and 6 kids. They had an apple orchard on Pogue Flats. My grandma was the oldest child, Bernice Johnson, born in 1904?. There was also Ruth, Una, Fern, Elmer, and Charles, Jr. Caroline's sister was my great great aunt, Emilie Danielson, married to Louis Danielson. They had two sons, Harold and LeRoy. As I said, Ruth stayed in Omak all her life, and her husband Willis had Hahn Sign Company. They built a home at 329 South Douglas in Omak and Ruth lived there for 60 years. I used to visit her there when I was little. She went to Trinity Lutheran Church most of her life and was a remedial reading teacher's aid after her three girls were grown. I dearly loved her. Would be cool if your mom knew her or her daughters. I remember Rosie riding her horse in the Stampede Parade.

I wonder if Johnson Creek was named after your family. I bet it was. Omak has been having its 100 yr anniversary and showing lots of photos. Been really interesting.

That sucks. We have had some rough times too; with my DH it is his computer. When we got back from CA DD ran up to DH all excited to see him again, talking a mile a minute, and in turn he yelled at her for interupting his big battle on the video game he was playing.

.

If you were closer, I'd come over with a bottle of wine to share.

That's really nice lacing on that SLW; I've been seeing too much incomplete or broken or very dark on hatchery birds in my neighboring flock, it's a relief to see a good one!
