Welcome to the thread. I hope that you will join the great group we have here on this thread.

I think my all time favorite jams are: Strawberry and Apricot.
BUT
I am very anxious to try and make
1) Mango
2) Persimmon
and giving some thought to Cantalope...someone must have a recipe for cantalope jam ???

Hey JB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just did freezer camp on 28 Cornish Cornballs, 10 weeks old, top weight on cockerals was about 8-9 pounds dressed, pullets 6+ pounds.
Took up a big hunk of my freezer !
Now the rest has to be saved for the 1/4 side beef I am splitting with Stumpfarmer, that & some home grown pork sausage, and all these veggies, we will be set for winter !

EXCEPT........I am out of bread & butter pickles again!
They go like crack..
Toni says she walks around with a baggie of them in her purse

I have used the fruit jar light thing for over my kitchen sink but mine was open at the bottum. I hate TICKS to... had to get goats to keep the weeds down around the house, and Guinies(sp) to eat the ticks, then spend every night picking ticks off of 2 Shelties, long coats, so ticks would not get in house. Yuck

makes me shiver to think bout it.

I love making jam, but we just don't seem to eat very much of it anymore. I miss the kids when I think of jam. The last batch of orange marmalade is my favorite right now. But it's been years since I have made any jam. I might try blackberries this year. I just have figure out when they will get ripe this year.

I loved the fruit jar lights too. I am going to have to figure out where I could put one.
