I had slightly low platelets at 125,000 before surgery & they routinely draw blood every 4 hours afterwards. At the next blood draw they had dropped to 27,000 and then 1 hour later, 15,000. They started me on medication to preserve brain & central nervous system function. The scary thing--I overhead my doctor telling the helicopter pilot to induce coma if they needed to.....

Ouch! sounds like one of those things thst makes you mumble over and over, that which does not kill us only makes us stronger. I have done a lot of that this summer myself.

Oh My Heavens! I'm so glad you are doing better and have support. And thank heavens for helicopters! Please get better soon and give that little one an extra hug from me. Think good thoughts and get some rest. I'll be thinking of you and sending healing thoughts your way.

Wow, can't imagine experiencing that! Ouch!! Please take it easy.
I starting to think it might be hazardous hanging out with this crew! Hope it's not contagious!
My Black Australorp layed her first egg on Sunday and for the previous 2 weeks I was checking the box multiple times per day. And yes, only chicken folks seem to understand. Today I had a group of friends here, most thought my girls were kinda cute, some even ventured to pet one. But one friend got really excited and when I suggested we check for an egg she got REALLY excited! Luckily there was a warm green egg there... I let her take it home. She was SO exicited!!!

I know exactly what you are doing... because we are doing the same thing. I have 11 girls who are right at POL. 3 are producing, the other 8 ... any day now
That would be fun, getting to experience the First Egg eleven times!
And getting a whole basket full of little pee wee eggs!
