We were just at Westport last Saturday and saw a guy on a bike pulling a skateboard with a long rope. Perched atop the board was a very happy bulldog! They were doing tight corners and big circles! That dog was never even close to losing his balance even for one second! It was amazing!
And man did the kids get a kick out of it!
Great vid!

I've seen the dog on a skateboard before but not surfing and sledding. I figured he just did it because he had been trained to do it but he actually enjoys it! He even puts his paws on the ground and pushes off to pick up more speed!

I saw one in Maui on the surf board and paddle board and one on Snoqualmie Pass on Skies (lab).

Hooray for Ruby for not asking to go out until ten minutes before my alarm went off. When she wakes me up at way too early, I go back to sleep and stay asleep, turning off my alarm without waking up much, and getting up a half hour later. (Which is a half hour before anyone else gets up: my DH and DD work until 7pm and 7:30 pm respectively, although today she's doing an inventory of returned items for a real jewel of a customer today and may not get off until 8:30 or so

Possibly will have new hired help for a little while, friend of a friend who's looking for an actual job. I've set her to fixing an ingrown problem that's the last thing I fell in/over/on (complicated topology of mess + falling with hot food from BBQ) and which needs a responsible adult to fix or I might as well do it myself for my ability to be doing anything else.

I had an utterly GREAT high school art teacher who, along with blind drawing, sculpture, and etching, taught us logistics, at least in the sense of looking at a job, breaking it down to its component tasks and the tools and materials necessary to accomplish each, and to organize the tools and materials so that they would not interfere with tasks they were not part of. It's the single most valuable education I've received, and apparently nobody is taught any thing like it (nor the equally valuable concepts of "in the way" and "underfoot" which means when I work with people who are not me I'm constantly blocked from going from one end of the house to the other or tripped up by objects left just behind me, et'c so on and et'c ad infinitum). Too bad this is lost, even worse than how my daughter got an A in chemistry but was not taught how bimetallic corrosion works.

Good morning all! I am starting to research small farm operations and have questions about the selling of meat or meat animals ready for slaughter. I have decided I would prefer not to kill anything, I think, and wonder if anyone has experience with selling animals specifically for meat. If so, what area are you located in, as that obviously has some effect on sales. And, in case I get brave, does anyone know if its at all legal to sell meat from your home farm?

thanks!

Exactly! Until I saw the video, I felt sorry for the dog we saw. I got to thinking, my lab will run herself into the ground chasing a ball and love every minute of it. So some must just love other forms of activity.

I live in Yakima WA. I am allowed to sell butchered birds off my property with out any inspections/license. Should I have more than 1,000 birds, I would then need a commercial license. I have not looked into other livestock. I have found a local guy who will butcher, shrink wrap and freeze birds -- for about 3 to 4 bucks each.

I hope this helps you
