It is that weekend. I usually coop mine in Friday night so they have overnight to settle in before judging starts on Saturday. You can coop in early Saturday morning too. I think they have to be all cooped in by 9am. The show catalog should be out any day for clarification. Coop out is Sunday after awards, etc, you can usually coop out by noon or so. It's SUCH an awesome show!! By FAR my fave that I've been to!

Just because ironimagery will be there!!

yes something is wrong, I never have any smell in mine. So what are you doing?

OK, so I start with one cushy layer of straw, then they add a layer of poo, then I add layer of straw then they add a layer of poo and it smells like amonia.

I don't feed them when they are in there. So nye nye and in they go, no food, no water, just bed time. AND THEY JUST LAY AROUND, NO PERCH ( THEY ARE DUCKS)

Ok so I dont have ducks maybe you cant do it with ducks.

Well, the Habitat for Humanity architectural Salvage place had no shower stalls today, so that's no help. Ours split in the last day, and I was hoping to buy a cheaper-than-HD 32 inch. Now I'm thinking I'll just waterproof the wals of the tub and get an old-fashioned tub shower and build some steps so getting in isn't such a beyotch. Or something.

I did make out like a bandit at Freddie's- they have a 60% off clearance, and I picked up four steel arches to use as end framing for the new hoop house and actual trellises for a couple gallumphing plants.

Now, to make dinner and bring the nightclothes in off the line.

That is really nice lucky you! If you have to take it off the trailer and move it get round posts and put it on it them and just roll it in. We had to do that with one of mine one year. It was hard work but we all laughed at each other as we moved the poles back to front.

That's the plan! first thing is the driveway had to be cleaned and cleared..... its a storage depot for all the "junk" until I get a good pile for the free roadside pile o stuff.

now the pile o stuff is on my front lawn

drive way is clean and now its just coordinating peeps to do the final move from street to back yard....
once coop is no longer a road sideshow I'll put free pile o stuff on the street to watch it vanish...

Its amazing how many people driving will stop in the road to look at the chicken coop and chickens

Forgot to mention, one of our home grown Olive Eggers has given us two eggs!!!!
yippiechickie.gif
We crossed a golden cuckoo maran x lavender Ameraucana roo which created sex linked chicks. The boys were cuckoo the girls were black. We kept the first two girls we hatched out. One of them has a single comb, one has a pea comb. The single comb has been bright red FOREVER, and I am hoping and praying that little olive egg is hers! The pea combed girl is not nearly as red. Really hoping they both lay olive eggs!

And both of my Cuckoo Marans from Chickielady are laying now, well one has been for awhile, then someone else started laying and I wasn't sure if it was the 2nd cuckoo marans or one of the two Barnvelders we got from CGG. I have now seen both CM's in the nesting box, and I have yet to see the Barnies. So I am still waiting on the two of them, my 2nd black Ameraucana pullet from Chickielady, and my 2nd olive egger to start laying. All of them should be any day. Then I also have my two split black Orp pullets and my 2 split black Ameraucana pullets and 3 Marans from Monicas, who are a bit younger, to start! Can't wait to see all the pretty colors!!!
