Too late...mine kicked in this morning, and the boys have had the fireplace on since last month.
Last summer my heat in the games room was on all summer.

Wow, I didn't realise there was so much difference in climate from Olympia to Redmond. I have been trying my hardest to keep the A/C off, and opening windows at night to cool the house DOWN!

TC

There's difference in weather between me (between Lacey and the Nisqually) and the Westside where TC is: it was cool here in the morning but above 80 by 1pm. Heck, in the winter there's a ten degree difference between my house and my cousin's a hundred feet away. Microclimates R Us!

(And I forgot that I was replying to TC, oops. So I will add, for a bonus, that there's 20 inches more a rain at the Evergreen campus than there is at my house, and about ten between, say, Division and 14th than here, although I'm wetter than the darned airport where the official weather station is).

I don't like Pampers at all--that's what she was in the first two times this happened...she's now in the Huggies "Swaddlers."

Huggies worked the best for my DS. Loved them!

I leave the door open on mine all the time - always have (when it's not running) and also the little drawer you put detergent, etc. in. It still is smelly and makes the clothes smelly, too. I did read to run a load of just water with bleach. Need to try that. I looked at the price of the front loader destinker stuff yesterday at Top Foods and it was really expensive. Definitely will check WalMart when I am near one. It's definitely a front loader feature I didn't know about and am not happy with.

I have the Whirlpool set from Costco also, and am less than thrilled with them. My washer broke the first week and they wanted to replace the whole drum. I insisted I wanted a whole new machine, and I eventually got it. But my dh says our clothes don't smell good. I always leave the door open and do a bleach load about every 5 days, which helps. But I agree that it is a design flaw, and for all the $$ we spent on these, I should love them! It took me over a year to decide to finally take the leap and buy them, and now I regret it.

I've had front-loaders for almost two decades; the worst thing that's happened is that one of the mounts on the first one was damaged in the Nisqually quake and eventually the entire mounting system failed. The second one had a membrane control panel that you may notice they don't use any more because they crack; the one now had the filters clog less than a year after it was installed, but that was, in fact, a problem with our water-lines. I've never had smell problems but I tend to wash at least one load a day and I use Dreft because I have detergent sensitivities so maybe it's that? I don't know: with electric heat, we are massively stingy about energy use to avoid "all I want for Christmas is somebody to pay the power bill" syndrome so we converted to the most energy efficient everything long ago, and are now starting to transition to LED lights wherever possible.

(Fun Fact about compact fluourescents: they don't die when there's an artillary barrage while they're on).

I am in Redmond...but on the hills and in the woods. COLD.
But once I head to the open fields...(microsoft campus) it is hot....especially when I sit on astro turff.

or sit inside my car, wiff the windows rolled up and looking at the "hot" summer sun. Then, I can wear my t-shirt and summer shorts and flip flops. then W/O thje ac on, drive to Dairy Queen and have a soft serve.

I need to retire & leave town wiff the birds every fall. I'm so afreared of the cold. I aint born for this kind of cold and I don't ski either.
So I am not cashing in on a very long ski season.
Boy that condo in Maui is looking better everyday.
When are you going home Candy??

If Dad gets a condo on the Big I sland for a month this winter, I'll go spend a week with him.

These are my new babies. They are Swedish Flowers and about 2 1/2 weeks old now. I have two older ones that are 7 1/2 weeks but they are full siblings and look almost identical. I "needed" some more.
