It's tough when you have a likeable roo that you have to re-home isn't it? I lucked out when I found a home for my mixed breed boy. His biggest advantage was his size. His new owner wanted to use him for breeding.
If I hadn't found him a home through BYC, Craigslist was my next option. I've heard even the roos go quickly there, but...

I want to find a home here. I REALLLLYYY want a chicken lover to take him
I hadn raised him, and didnt do that so he could get eaten.

HA! I WISH they went quikly on craigslist! I have two posted for free! One person showed up when I wasnt home, but nothing sence then. Had them on there for 2 months now!

The black AM cockeral was being overly agressive to my Wheaten pullets, so I threw him out of the coop. He's very friendly to peolple, just a little rough on the young girls.

Believe, I understand exactly how you feel. That was how I felt about my boy too. Good luck.

Not to bad at the moment. just sitting here waiting for time to pass so I can take my DH to work. Then off to work myself, clean some stall and feed some horses.

Thanks for the welcome. Would love to show you pics of my Iowa Blues (all spring 2011 stock), but haven't figured out how to post a picture yet. I've tried a time or two... no luck.

I do have a FaceBook page I started dedicated to the Iowa Blues. Several pics of my Blues are there. And my avatar is a picture of my Iowa Blue rooster. I call him "Bleu" (so original, I know! LOL) He's a handsome devil.

Can you send us a link to your FB page?

I just got rid of my Cockerel, I hated to do it, but my BR was going to lose part of her scalp soon if I didn't. A lady just down the raod came and got him and is going to breed him. She was so happy. Craigs list was easier. Everyone here pretty much always has too many roos and hatches chicks all of the time! Lol!
