Regarding USPS

I have had a really different experience with them. I was expecting an order of chicks, and they were due on a Thursday. Our local P.O. does not deliver - we have to pick them up. The shipper puts my phone number on the box and the PO calls to let me know when they arrive, but I usually call them before they get a chance to call me.

This last shipment came in a day early (stupid Hatchery sent them the wrong day) So, I wasn't expecting any birds, when the USPS guy showed up at the door, and hands me my box of chicks! He said they didn't see the phone number on the box (must say, it was small type).

I would however, play hell with anyone who didn't do their job like they are supposed to do. So, CR, I would be right there with you!

My husband works for the PO and when any animal comes in they call the people or my hubby drives them out. That isnt his job but all the people know that he loves animals. So I'll have to say that some PO are great and some are not..

They are going home on Sunday between 6-7pm.

Well shoot. Thanks for the info!

The junior birds will come in the last Thursday of the fair and stay until the end of the fair Sunday. There is usually just as much quality and variety as the Open Show.

Craig's List Ad.

So, because feed has gone up so much, and we have so many ducks, I thought I'd put an ad on CL and see if I could get the flock down to a reasonable size before winter (not counting the freezer birds, or the breeding stock that we will keep.) I think we have about 60 in the yard now, so keep 10 for breeders and another 20 for the freezer (we already did some last month), leaves 30 for sale.

The ad was on CL for less than 30 minutes and a guy calls up and inquires about them. Problem is, he won't buy less than 100! I had them listed $15 for ducks, and $25 for drakes.

Oh how I wish. . .

See if I were closer I would jump right in the middle of this and whoever is aparrently refusing to do what they are supposedly required would not be very happy by the time I had them sent kickin rocks. And then I would continue to go up that ladder. This is why they can set on thier hands and draw nice wages. WE THE PEOPLE need to take control back.

Yes, but would YOU want to then put your live bird in the hands of the worker you'd ticked off? I'd be afraid he'd drop kick the box! I've had one bird sent to me arrive dead and another with a dislocated hip. If these postal workers will use guns on people, what will they do to a box of birds?
