Now we have: 33' 5th wheel....bathroom, hot water. I will never go back.

I figure I am old and fat and I have paid my dues...I can have a bit of comfort. I know, it is probably not really "camping" when I can hook up to power and sewer and cable.

I am old & fat, and still we are ""Camping""" while we build, chemical toilets that have to be poured in the septic daily (my orders) and water hauled by 5 gallon buckets into the shower stall, and mixed with a 2 gallon pot of hot water on the campstove.
This is part of how we live dail;y.
But I agree....the bones deserve a good night's sleep, in a comfy bed.
When we travel, we have a 100% raw cotton futon we put in the minivan..with comfy home made uilts..and a 10 foot by 10 foot pavilion canopy..tables & lanterns & campstoves and a propane fired "ON DEMAND" shower hot water system!

Even still....the bones are getting old.

Once Illia has made her choices and decided if any are available, I said I would be willing to take a drive. But it all depends on whether or not she is going to let any of her Araucana pullets go to new homes. If so, I've got my car keys in my hand...

Anyway, the birds occosted by the racoon, were a Wheaten Ameraucana, (eggs from cpartist in Florida) and a Blue Ameraucana (Cree Farms) and a Black Copper Marans boy, from Zgoatlady eggs I got months & months ago.
These boys are all up for adoption, BTW.

DH has the yard loaded for war.

It is a long, long, long & very beautiful drive.
Plan on bringing a picnic, and visiting the oyster farms & beaches, too.
Illia is lucky to live in a very beautiful, very wild place...few left on earth.

Before I go, wanna show you all something so awesome~~~
We have spent many weekends fixing up Dad's Cabin at Quilcene~~~
Built by his hand (way way way over built!) in the 80s & 90s..it went unattended for 15 years when they retired & moved from the expensive fairwood Country Club, to a wonderful little house, in Elma.
No one wanted to go to the Cabin..so it sat.
So much so, that Ivy planted grew way up over & emcompassed it's door..and the deck roted away.
We all cleared the old deck, cleaned rain gutters & built a new cedar deck..here are some pics~

It is the most wonderful littel cabin, 16 X 16 with a full loft, the cieling (loft floor) is made by 2 X 10s, on 16" centers!!!!!!!!!!!
Like you could park a semi up there!
The outside is cedar shake....sits on 15-20 acres, I forget, of tall cedars.
Dad needs to sell it but does not think it will go in this economy.......dang I love this cabin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding the Wheaten rooster, I was asking Cheryl. CL - You'd remember, you sent the rooster to whoever it was when you dropped by my place. Was it Cheryl? I can't remember.

I'd spotted a big patch of shooting stars and just had to go look. It was a little slice of heaven even if I only got to enjoy it for a few minutes!

We went to visit my daughter's friend in White Sulphur Springs after her first year at UM Missoula, and the fields below their ranch house were carpeted in shooting stars- they called them rooster heads, my grandmother cranesbills, and the latin is genus Dodecatheon. Another thing I used to see everywhere, now gone for no greater cause than tidiness.

Oh... that picture makes my heart beat faster! We called them rooster heads sometimes, too. Either - or. Wish I could find that field at bloom time! Thanks for sharing!!!
