Sometimes the girls will decide to sleep else where. I hope she is home in the morning.

Good to know; I'd like to move cockerels off the place as early as I can, because the price of feed is going to become an issue.

OH: reread the story of your Cooper's Hawk attack, and the fact that the bird perched and watched you is more evidence that it was a migrant. Local birds know where to sit that you can't see them- as hard as I try to photograph them, they almost always vanish into their hiding places immediately- and even when I flush them and know where they've flown, I almost never see them until they take off again.

Illia, if I read what you're saying correctly, Tertia and Quinta are expressing Columbian, then?

The night crew is early tonight, but I think I am going to turn in soon. They maxed me out. I have a really hard time coping with stress monkeys. The 2 double drinks helped some though.

Hopefully she'll show up when she's hungry.

Yes, hopefully.
She's got an amazing appetite.
She's very friendly to me but also more adventurous and fearless than the others.
I've never lost a bird before.
I quit looking for her when it got dark.
Hopefully, the morning will bring a hungry girl at my doorstep.
Thanks, everyone, for the encouragement.

Hugs to you for Dottie. Will be rthinking about you in the am hoping she finds her way back.

You know what I wish? I wish someone would make a chicken-pattern chart like this cat chart. I just spent a fruitless however-long it's been since my last post trying to get a good illustration of what "crow wing" means with no luck. I find "duck wing" something I understand intuitively but "crow wing" not so much.

(Back to poking the internet until what I want falls out of it).

I'm having some trouble keeping my other Spitz at home. I may have to clip some wings.
