I will keep trying!

I'm here. I just don't have much to say. I'm trying to figure how to cover my runs for the winter. Mr. Hallerlake thinks my hoop roof idea won't work. He thinks it won't be strong enough.

How big is the area you are trying to cover?

Very pretty! Lulu was my prettiest, and I still miss the eye candy.
Was waiting so impatiently for her to lay her first egg to see if she was Ameraucana, or OE.
I still say there was a good chance she was OE.
I looked at her legs after she died and there was a full feather or two on her shanks and some pin like feather things a little lower like on my Marans.
So sad.

Well that's interesting. I didn't realize you could sex them that early. I'll have to take some more photos when we get back in town. (We're still in AZ.)

Also, it looks like these chicks will be available after all. The family who was interested hasn't had time to build their coop and currently have too much going on. I think they're 6 weeks old on Tuesday, and would be ready to go when Whitey decides she's had enough. I'll bet they will look a lot different by the time we get home. They change so quickly.

Illia is so good at sexing them early. I had one that I was unsure about and I got told it was a cockerel. Right on the money!
