I want some keets some day, but I've got to figure out where to put them. Far away from my bedroom window, for one criterion.

My turkey toms are loves, and we have some serious talks!
They WILL chase me if they want company, they imprint as geese & ducks do, and unlike geese & ducks, a turkey will die of lonliness.
The tom in the video looked lonely to me, and the dumb human should have talked to him, and shared some time.
Poor baby, was probably just lonely, obviously not mean,, they CAN chase you down & kick fanny, and this guy was not "in rut" as he was not blowing & fluffed in strut, he just wanted someone to talk to, and she WAS TALKING!!!!!!!!

Far away from any neighbors, too, they make a rakit, rackit, ok, alot of LOUD noise, and if you have alot of Guineas, you can go insane listening to them.
Remember the wildview cam I have?
Check this out from last spring:

That's cool that you have it easy this time of year. Seems all anyone wants to buy from me this time of year are pullets near POL. Now, come January, I can't keep chicks in the house, I have people banging down my door for them, until about late March, when they have their fill of feed store chicks...But from the first of the year until it tapers off I usually sell close to 200 chicks...can't GIVE stuff away right now!!

Do people buy hatching eggs as well in January or just chicks?

I personally have gone ape & ordered hatching eggs 24/7 and 12 mo of the year, mostly in an attemp to have my birds near POL by spring, see my point?
