Hey CL not to pick an arguement but ya might wanna recheck yer map. See Stevenson and Skamania are not the same but they are both in Skamania County. The (very small) town of Skamania is down the creek from Stevenson.

Dang! $175 a month?
Room, board, vet bills, mucking and training all for $175 a month?
I boarded horses in 1968, got a stall, a paddock & fed alfalfa 2X a day.
That was it. all for $150 a month, in 1968 !!!!!!!
No training, no vet services..I had to muck or it didn't get done.
You are far too kind to the guy, vacate him!

I feel that $175 is fair concidering that he pays for his own feed, brought in his own sand, and built his own shelter. My sister has her horse here as well, but she pays WAY more than $175 just in all the work she does around here to help me out. If I was supplying all the feed, and shelter out of my own pocket. Trust me. Board would be at the very minimum $250+ extras.

I think the reason this situation raises my BP so much is because I am not supposed to be doing EVERYTHING myself. My Dr. agrees that me keeping my two clients is fine, but she wants me to take it easy at home. IE... No heavy lifting, no riding, no over exertion, things like that. Im also supposed to watch my BP because of my weakened heart.

Oh forgot to tell you. I was sent to a cardiologist yesterday. Ill find out how the echocardiogram turned out on November 9th. I should also find out what sex the little one will be the same day! Only 4 more weeks!

The reason for the Echocardiogram is that during my pregnancy with DD, I had massive amounts of fluid on my heart, and my heart enlarged by quite a bit. therefor I have a weaker heart, and am more apt to have heart issues. Plus Ive been having some major palpetations that last 10-15 minutes each session. and this has been happening 2-4 times a day. Now it is normal to have palpetations, but not for longer than 30 seconds or so... So they are watching me carefully to catch any problems early.

So exciting to know about the baby!
I supplied my own feed & grain & paid $150 a month, I had to much, exercise & all.
All THEY did was provide the place & fix hinges & latches or rails if necessary.
So is HE going to pay for HIS vet bills?
I have never heard of a horse eating sand!

terrific

the hens and rooster have been yelling out here all day; they really wanted out in the yard but I'm too tired from yesterday; and DH is so nearly finished with his staircase, that he didn't want to stop and supervise them

so maybe they were also yelling at their incubating offspring ??

warning: the eggs from this bunch do tend to hatch a day earlier than expected -- you, and Dawn, and Dana have all seen this

let's hope Sylvia's eggs hatch along with these too

(did you ever open the "dud" eggs from the last batch to see if there was any development?)

No, didn't open any- also only candled Sylvia's of this bunch, and know one is a dud and two might not be.

I've been flying low and fast the past couple of weeks, just trying to weather-proof temporary chicken housing that I had no intention of using this late in the year- time and effort that took time I should have been putting into finishing the winter housing. I'm over the cold that knocked me on my butt last week- I can tell, yesterday just made me exhausted, not too sick to get out of bed. I've got no back up on animal chores during the week, and no flexibility on stuff like grocery shopping on the weekend, so finishing structures is much more difficult than I could have imagined.

Life is rich and full, and I knew I should have had a third child (joke).

Never even thought about wind screans! Wonder if they could be water proufed with something like camp dry??? Hmm... I see an experiment coming up in my near future!

Note: I myself have saved at LEAST 75 plastic reinforced feed bags, in hopes of one snowy day (oh I said the 'S' word!

) sewing alot of square bottomed totes.
I keep saving them.....

I do think it would be nice to sew the sheep, little rain coats out of the reinforced clear tarp material, though...have you considered that?

The rain just makes him wet: I'm getting scars from having to disentangle him from the blackberries he's supposed to be eating up.

Thanks for the compliment on our mutt. He will be at STEVENSON and if they will allow I may take him into my booth. He is a service dog ya know.
Well from living down there I know that there is a small town / community called Skamania and then the town of Stevenson where the show is.
