I have mine inside the coops hanging on the walls.

Dog crate water "buckets" off the floor so no poop/shavings get kicked in.

Hey all. I haven't posted in the WA thread before, but I'm in Seattle, with three 10 week old cockerels to give away. Would this be the place to offer them up (preferably for raising, not braising...)?
Thanks folks.

Cute chicks! I may have missed it, but what breeds are they? Is it possible that your "runt" Greta might be a bantam?

She definitely is not a bantam. Her and Ethel were the exact same size when I got them. I had a hard time telling them apart other than Ethel has a little bit of white over her eyes. Ethel & Greta are Australorps, Rhonda is a Rhode Island Red and Mabel & Hazel are Easter Eggers sold to me as Americanas from the Monroe Feed Store. Greta just stopped growing for a week and is finally starting to get some decent tail feathers. She plops down a lot thought. Like she's too tired to stand like the others. But she's eating, sleeping and (TMI) pooping well.

Here is my week three blog entry.

Not sure about that one. I was more wondering if my runt is in fact a boy. I guess time will tell.

The rain just makes him wet: I'm getting scars from having to disentangle him from the blackberries he's supposed to be eating up.

You need GOATS not sheep.
Sheep get stuck & will stay there until they die.
Goats are what ya need.

I suspect for the sheep rain coat, you need CANVAS not ripstop, with maybe an underlayment of Tyvek -- something sturdy enough to stand up to brambles (generally even the heavy backpack ripstop material, is not) .. canvas with Sno-Seal might be even better, or given a coating of exterior latex

actually you probably could use Tyvek as a windproofer for the coops and runs ... somewhat of a waterproofer too -- ask Broodytood, she wrapped her coops with it

I have thought of getting a big roll of it; what I don't use on the coops, I will make a couple of human type windbreakers out of it -- I have a couple from Seattle-to-Portland bicycle jaunt (given to me by a friend), but they have developed some tears over the years, not properly packed and in contact with axes and such

Thanks for the compliment on our mutt. He will be at STEVENSON and if they will allow I may take him into my booth. He is a service dog ya know.
Well from living down there I know that there is a small town / community called Skamania and then the town of Stevenson where the show is.

And so you can see how small my freak dog is.

She loved fetch more than anything. The order of importance is laser, stick, ball, toy. All must be thrown so she can bring it back. Of course you can't throw a laser, but just holding the pointer makes her geek out.

I have a dog kennel that could use a treatment like that. Tarps have been useless. I wish I'd taken shop in school instead of folk dancing....
