There is a guy that has just jumped on here that is doing the Icelandic chicken thing! Look back a couple pages. I think his name is Jake.

I have been good. Where ya been? I been needing some Black Runner advice. One of the ducks got killed 3 weeks after I got it from you by a cat.
The one survived the summer and was joined by a 5 month old male runner and a runner/muscovy cross about a month ago.

She still hasn't laid any eggs yet. Thinking of getting another female....maybe from Craigslist...not sure if I will take whatever breed I could get or try for a runner.

------------------------- WARNING--------------------------------

If CR's RIR Banty hens talk anyone else into taking them to lunch at a place called Spiffy's and then MAKE you order the chocolate/peanut butter pie........ DON'T DO IT!!!! It is addictive!! That is all I can think about now!!!

And this is exactly why I hang out with ducks!!! They don't make you eat such awful things!!!!

Look on a map, at the eastern line between WA & Idaho, and go north.
You will see Sokane, go north & see newport, now just a bit more north & west-ish you will see Cusick, more north you see Metalline falls/Ruby area.
That is the place.
It is BOONIES!!

They do not start laying eggs until they are around 20 weeks old. Which for yours will be at the end of October. So give her a couple more weeks. My duck that I had hatched 2 weeks before yours has just layed her 1st egg last Wednesday.

If you are not going to hatch any of the eggs then go ahead and get whatever you can find. If you want to hatch out ducklings then you should really be more careful. The runner you got from me came from good lines. If you mate her with a good runner male then you will have strong runners both in the egg laying aspect and in their legs. If you mix runner ducks with other breeds sometimes you can get weird looking birds.

My cell number is the same. If you want to call me tomorrow I would be more than happy to try and help you!
