I basically did just let them go, because I didn't spray. But I would have gotten more pumpkins and squash if I had. I don't think that several of the pumpkins will ripen because the vine died. My oldest willow tree get and then looses it leaves every year now. It must be 10 years this has been going on. It's to big for me to spray and it's now in the chickens run. The golden willow got a light case of the mold this year too.

The pea patch finished it's self off because of the mold. I am not going to be able ignore this anymore. I wish I could hire an expert to spray the trees. I am starting to think about getting rid of the two willows all together. That may solve the entire problem. I down side to this is that then I can see the neighbors, and they can see me. I still don't like that. The solution maybe planting bamboo, or some of the Cyprus trees that the neighbors have been telling me about.

But if I do that, then the chickens loose at least 2 feet of run space. I guess we could make the run longer, but DH might just say no to that idea. He doesn't mind that we can see into the neighbors houses. And he doesn't mind being seen. It all makes me crazy, and I am the person that has to live here everyday.

Okay that is enough of my rambling vent......

I havea bantam buff brama roo with my LF. I also have 2 LF cukoo hens with 1 silkie hen, 3 RIR Bhens and a RIR B Roo. they are doing just fine.

Found it!

Ok My main worry is that 1 poor little guy with 16 Big guys in the same coop locked in until 9 am due to rooster lock up to prevent unhappy neighbors
But based on what all is said I will try it out for awhile.

I keep mine separate - my little guys are a lot more confrontational than the big roosters. The bantams seem to think they are bigger than the Orpington!

I would consider this if you don't mind what happens. The guy next door was more than willing to eat a rooster dinner.

So I have a question for the group. My power is supplied by Puget Sound Energy. Every month I get the bill online, and it always says that I use a lot more power than the neighbors around me. It makes me a little bit crazy, because I live mostly alone, and I am very good at turning the lights off. I have florescent light bulbs in nearly every light fixture, and I only have the one laptop in use. I just don't understand how I can use more power than the families around me. Most of the people in the neighborhood have 2 or more kids, and I know that some of these families don't seem to think about consuming less. I do operate 2 very small florescent grow lights 24/7, and I have a 75 gal fish tank that has two big filters running on it.

I do heat the house with a 90 or 95% efficiency heat pump and furnace that is only a couple of years old. I keep the heat at 68 during the day and 65 overnight, and I will not turn the Air on until it's over 90. I use the air at that point to keep the dogs and fish tank from over heating too much. I also plug my skylights with insulation when ever the temps outside drop to freezing, or the temps go over 90 to 95. Doing that make a big difference in how warm the house feels. Even with all that I am almost always cold. I would love to heat the house to 75 most of the time, but I don't want to pay fo,r or use more power.

So what I want to know is if everyone's power bill says that they use more than the neighbors around them? It could be that PSE says that to every customer to get them to conserve. I know that it makes me think about it a lot.

Okay it time to feed the eel his meat, and head to bed.

The night crew is out of here.

Thanks for the reminder. I washed my terrycloth robe with a bit of bleach and hung it out to dry in the sun, and noticed later in the afternoon that the ladybugs were everywhere.

Better check my cuffs and pockets, eh?

No ladybugs here, just lots of woolybears!

What are woolybears?

I am not sure we are on thesame page of the same book here. After re-reading it looks like you may be talking about more than one roo. IF that is the case I have no clue (as usual). See I only have one roo per pen.
