You can check the length of the feathers on the wings. But only at 2 or 3 days old

Cannot pick another?

cannot change it or I will never get it back; it is NOT in my BYC downloads, it is not in either of the computers here, it's in a "dead" computer on Maui, probably no way to retrieve it from that

I am hoping that this will work; I would be devastated to lose the ONLY picture of the great roo I had on Maui, before my tenant's son shot him, the day after we left

Hello there! We are in southwest, WA... very close to Portland Or.

And WE had an urban backyard chicken drama warning last night!

My husband called my attention to an owl perched on our porch swing staring into our back door... at the hamster cage maybe? Or our Bichon Frise doggie? What must have originally attracted him was probably the rabbit hutch outside to his left or the bantam chicken coop with my 5 bantams was directly behind him 12 feet or so. The hamsters were in hiding when I turned to get the camera I thought how brave that guy was in our undercover porch with the porch light on, in view of my husband from the couch our 20 lb "watch dog" laying about. I turned to grab my camera but was relieved that he flew off because I realized I hadn't shut the chicken coop door for the night.

Sooo all 5 birds were safely sleeping and they were quickly locked up after that. And I will take that as a warning to get that door closed up earlier, huh? Wild wild west!

Found chicken! Driving home last night I saw a chicken walking on the side of the freeway. On 5-99 between Seattle and Tukwila. I stopped and with the help of a trucker I was able to catch him. He looks like a modern game cockerel. Anyone missing one? And if not missing want one?
