Maybe I'll try a flashlight tonight. I'll pass on the menorah. LOL

I don't have any electricity to the coop. The days of leaving my window open to accommodate an extension cord are OVER!

I've read a few other threads on this now...people suggest feeding them or offering sunflower seeds in the coop.

How about a flashlight. It doesn't have to be on all night; just until they're inside.

Yes or one of those little solar lights. They are not much $$ and will fade out. However if there is not a window with enough light to recharge you would have to bring out in the bright to recharge.

I need to hae some sort of "off-on" switch automatic thingy like that. It would make my life a lot easier. As it is....I plug in the heat lamps at night and unplug when I leave for work. Hopefully I don't forget and leave it on all day.

Check at places like Home Depot etc. They have devices that you can plug in and then plug heat tape, heat lamp etc into. When temp drops to 35 they come on and then when it warms to a point I dont know it goes off. or like I do I just set things on timers (cause I have lots of timers).

Timers are great. I have one for my layer coop. I can set 2 different times with it. It comes on and adds a few hours of light in the AM, is off all day then comes on in the pm for a while. Found this one on clearance at Home Depot.

Some of the timers like the ones I get at harbor tool can be set for many on / off cycles during a 24 hour period. These have 2 recept's and a manual override.

I are a Redneck Jew too, always have been, born and raised on a farm , and thats the only place that I want to be.

In MI I made a large Magen David(Star) for out front of heavy wire twisted into two right angle triangles and then laid them on top of each other, then twisted a white tree tinsel wrap around the wire then lined that with blue small string lights,

neighbors complimented me on my Christmas Star.

I just smiled. Somewhere I have pics of it, have to downsize them to post here.

Robin, thats the universal rule, if you bag/catch it, you clean it.
