Someone, I think one of the WA BYC'ers posted a response to that question the other day which is not quite appropriate for this thread. Had to do with buying the whole pig when all you wanted was... I'm sorry that's all I can say.

You can't say bacon here?

Figures- she's still waiting on someone who is dithering on the last quarter; I won't know until she knows, because she needs cash and I have to do it on time payments; I'll be taking it anyway, the larger kid is kicking in some.

I think the pork is going to be picked up next week.

And we take care of them as best we can with mineral blocks.but they have so much lush green grass here....very healthy big herd, and NO ONE is here but us.

Call me, she is supposed to call me, when she has 10# of unseasoned sausage.

Love Emily too! It's my oldest DD's name.

Speaking of bucks, we had a crazy dude in the neighborhood late this afternoon/evening trying to go after one. You know the picture of the trio I posted the other day? Well they've been hanging around all week. This afternoon we had this pick up truck come up the street, turn and go down to the culdesac, then went back down the hill and parked on the side of the road, right in front of our house. We have an empty 8 acre lot across the street that's mostly blackberries and tall grass. The girls saw him and came and got me and we watched. We missed him walking off, but saw him run back to the truck with a rifle/shot gun and he was dressed in camo! He then drove back down to the culdesac and was down there for a bit. Then came back down the road, parked and wandered back into the lot. Meanwhile, I was leaving to take one of the girls to dance and DH was just getting home so I filled him in. As I was pulling out of the driveway, I saw the buck come out of the field and cross the culdesac and go into my neighbors yard. DH called me a few minutes later and said he called the cops, who never did show up. This went on for a couple of hours, into the dark. He also went up the private road behind our house a couple times. Now I don't have a problem with hunting in general, but not in my neighborhood! That lot across the street is private property! And two of the girls were outside playing in the woods when this all started. And we did call the folks who own the lot to make sure he didn't have permission to be there which he didn't. Still, kind of scary stuff. The girls and I were pretty freaked out.

CL- Glad to hear your scan was clear!!!! My diagnostic smush is tomorrow. Then it's wait on the oncologist to figure out what to do next.

Our 2nd DD is Emalie. I know I know... she'll have to correct the spelling for life but I just tend to be contrary!

Actually, I want them to have the chance to be one of a kind!
Our oldest DD is Gailyn. My mom, who died when I was 13, was named Gail. So I tweaked the male name Galen. My brother had used her middle name, Yvonne, so I couldn't. It is pronounced Gay'lyn not Gay-lyn' for all you experts. She has to spell and pronounce it for people all the time but doesn't mind. Her name would have worked had she been a boy or a girl. Just would have had to switch the spelling around.
I loved picking out names!!!!

tell him to get a dog squeaky toy -- sounds a great deal like a game-calling device that fools predators into thinking a rabbit is squealing

for some reason it also causes deer to come see what is happening

I was trying to call coyotes, but instead what showed up ?? three ravens and an elk !
