Thing is, the solar lights don't use regular 110 grounded wires and plugs, so it takes adapters to put them on a timer- unless they come with built in timers, which the ones that Dana and I don't seem to. I need to dig though all 1900-odd amazon listings, probably, which I am not anticipating with anyone would describe as joy.

Yup, that's the one; I suspect it would need some fiddling with adapters to get it to work with a timer (the sort of thing Radio Shack used to be full of, which now you have to get at Frye's or online).

Or rather ask The Programmer to fiddle with adapters, or possibly The Maestro: it is good to know electronics hobbyists.

I should figure out how to get to the shop in the next few days, to buy a bottle of Chocolate Port for my cousin-with-the-chicken's sister's 50th birthday party.

Chocolate port????

It's quite tasty (and I don't like sweet wines as a general thing, being fixated on excellant Oregon Pinot Noirs). My baby cousin is all about the chocolate.

So far, the only chocolate port (or any port for that matter) I really, really like is from the Torlesse winery outside of Christchurch, NZ. (Have been down there twice; once in 2007 and once in 2010) Can't get it here in the states tho'...

We have various friends/hubby's co-workers who go down that direction for Operation Deep Freeze and if we think about it, we'll ask them to bring us some home. I'm on my last bottle now, but hubby's pretty sure we have a crew member heading down that direction very shortly (if they aren't already there). He was going to e-mail them and ask them to bring me home a case for my birthday.

Might have to start trying different ports again tho' just to see if there's anything new to change my mind and much easier to buy... What brand of chocolate port do you get and where?

For your solar to light adapter you just need a small inverter, Radio Shack or the electrical supply places. Google Solar Power Inverters and you'll probably come up with quite a few.

Also today the anonymous work crew showed up with 3 very hard working young men. OK so they were teens they were still hard working young men in my book. They got right after it and finished splitting and stacking the last bit of wood I had.

Tamara also told me to let her know when I get the 3 cord home and they will come stack it. I told her that when I get it home I can get my neighbour to help and we can slowly get it in the shed. She said nope you call we will come out. And really I never knew these people before they were sent to help me.
