CF I cried as I read the tale, even the little dogs got upset. I understand enough of the dynamics of tree cutting to know how fast things can go wrong. DH and I lost his best friend not long before we married. He fell out a tree that he was cutting down. At least your FiL is still fighting for his life. Those first hours are the scariest. I will be thinking of your family and wish for the best outcome.

Too true JB - too much can go wrong, and you really never know when / where...sorry about your friend.

Thank you. Yes, DS is doing good with it. He knows everything I know. We have been very up front and honest with him from the beginning. He knows that we almost lost him for good, and that we are lucky to have him with us still, and that it's going to be a long road to recovery. DH has been having a hard time, after we almost lost his gpa last year, and now his dad. The annual family elk hunting trip has always meant a lot to him, they've all been making that trip together for 18 years, and he is having as hard a time with the trip possibly never happening again as he is with everything else. The area they go to means a lot to him, and I know it sounds odd, but I think he is grieving for that nearly as much as anything else. We took "one last drive" around the area Thursday evening, and he saw one elk...it was almost like a sign...it was really something to see the change in him just seeing that one animal...

I just spoke with DH a few minutes ago. FIL had a really good night, and made it through surgery #1 a whole lot better than the drs expected. The facial surgeon said that he thinks he can get everything else done with just one more surgery. That's a WHOLE lot better than 2-4 more surgeries!!! Whew! The prayers are working!!! Keep 'em coming!!!

Good luck.

can I give some advice:
Are you FSBO...meaning your home is not listed by a real estate agent...you are selling yourself?

Let the real estate agent do the work. If you can...leave the room, walk outside. Let the potential buyers look around. Be there to answer questions...but stay out of the way so they do not feel like they can not feely speak to their agent or to themselves or each other.

Not trying to be rude....and I deleted other comments as it was sounding like I was being rude....but...anyway.....

...buyers can be intimidated by sellers standing around....but onthe other hand...it is nice to have the sellers there to ask questions to and have immediate answers.

Good luck. Try not to hover....be relaxed....bake cookies or bread. Smell up the house with it. Anything warm and cozy.

I went out to breakfast and let my mellow DH stay to answer q's.
Thanks for the advice! I didn't think it was rude at all. The house smelled like fresh baked apple pie from my Woodwick candles. We got them at Cracker Barrel in ID last summer. They are awesome!!!
We'll see what happens.

I have a guest room if coming over I-90 would work better for you.

thank you for offering.

Also, thank you to Ogress.

I am not bringing any birds at this time (don't yet have any to show) but DD will most likely be coming with. I really hate to impose...but thank you for the offers and let me see what I can put together. I may take one of you up on this.

There's a queen sized bed if you don't mind sharing.

I get the same sort of garbage -- these guys must get SOME reward out of their negative attitudes .. maybe it's just the attention they garner

I yell ... though it really works better to ignore it and walk away .. like you would with a tantrum-prone child .. a friend gave me a book about Toxic Parents, but it is really difficult to ignore that sort of guff coming from a spouse (who can at time resemble the Toxic Parent I had ... )

anyway, I am hoping I can scare up enough energy to make Chehalis .. won't be showing any birds ... EEs you know ! and the roo has messed up feathers on all the pullets, while HE has an awfully floppy comb and sometimes an aggressive disposition ... so even if there were an AOV (any other variety) or HHP (house hold pet) category, as there is at cat shows --- mine aren't showable

I may see about mounting some Christmas lights in the coop, since I haven't seen any eggs yet today, and I think the one I got yesterday was actually laid the day before; the roo sounds off at oh-dark-thirty anyway .. I need to scoop the coop too, have been busy enough in the house that I didn't have energy to do it the last few days ... I'll see if I can vacuum up some of the oak leaves all over the ground, layer those with the coop scoopings so the compost doesn't smell like *you know what*

we've got you all in my neighbor's prayer circle also .. had added you when we didn't know who we were adding, but she always says: "God knows who we are praying for"

great neighbor to have -- got the coop and materials for the run from them -- we used to mow their front lawn for them but now their DS does it when he does his own (he lives across the street)

also if you detour to the Yelm area, our older motorhome will be available for sleeping -- comfy double bed in back, comfy double pull-down couch in front --- we will drive down for the day, may have a couple of seats in back available unless we are picking up other BYCers enroute
