Thank you. Yes, DS is doing good with it. He knows everything I know. We have been very up front and honest with him from the beginning. He knows that we almost lost him for good, and that we are lucky to have him with us still, and that it's going to be a long road to recovery. DH has been having a hard time, after we almost lost his gpa last year, and now his dad. The annual family elk hunting trip has always meant a lot to him, they've all been making that trip together for 18 years, and he is having as hard a time with the trip possibly never happening again as he is with everything else. The area they go to means a lot to him, and I know it sounds odd, but I think he is grieving for that nearly as much as anything else. We took "one last drive" around the area Thursday evening, and he saw one elk...it was almost like a sign...it was really something to see the change in him just seeing that one animal...

I just spoke with DH a few minutes ago. FIL had a really good night, and made it through surgery #1 a whole lot better than the drs expected. The facial surgeon said that he thinks he can get everything else done with just one more surgery. That's a WHOLE lot better than 2-4 more surgeries!!! Whew! The prayers are working!!! Keep 'em coming!!!

PS - Teresa, I just saw your FB post...thank you for the extra prayer requests!! (I sent you a FB friend request....)

Very hopeful news Jeanine. Continued good thoughts to all of you...

Cloverleaf - yes I did post.... have not seen a request come across. I will watch for it. I did post wrongly state your DH I knew it was your FIL...but my brain said DH. Sorry, I did correct it in the dialogue though.

Thank you for the positive thoughts!!!

CLF, I don't know if you were around much while I was laying out my background (I think it was right before Stevenson last spring, so I suspect not) but Dad was a logger when I was young; my first real chores were cleaning his corks every night and sharpening his limbing axe with a round stone. The things that go wrong in the woods (and in the near-vertical Left Coast woods, specifically) were the stuff of worry every night he came home late, and the dragons in my nightmares still have the build of logging trucks.

He got out of the woods not because of stuff like the time someone dropped a tree uphill of the one he was felling and set the whole slope sliding downhill but because one day he got to the top of a hill he had been working on for a month in Vail Tree Farm and looked over the crest only to see logged land going on to the National Park boundary. He signed up for a carpenter's union apprentice program rather than drive into the Olympics every morning. I think he was about forty-two and had been working in the woods off and on since he was fourteen.

thank you for offering.

Also, thank you to Ogress.

I am not bringing any birds at this time (don't yet have any to show) but DD will most likely be coming with. I really hate to impose...but thank you for the offers and let me see what I can put together. I may take one of you up on this.

There's a queen sized bed if you don't mind sharing.

A most excellent bed, excellent company, and hallerlake's abode is worth the trip just to see; my future daughter-in-law especially is in love with it.

I went out to breakfast and let my mellow DH stay to answer q's.
Thanks for the advice! I didn't think it was rude at all. The house smelled like fresh baked apple pie from my Woodwick candles. We got them at Cracker Barrel in ID last summer. They are awesome!!!
We'll see what happens.

perfect!!! here is crossing my fingers for you.

Thanks!!! I'm not worried cause I know who's got my back. The guy did say he liked the chickens! Oh, and the house too!

My God Jeannine, I have been praying for a BYC FIL...now I will pray a bit more specific. This is awful.
I am glad he is still with you. Very scarey. I hope that your DS is doingg okay, this can be heavy on a kid. I also hope that your DH is okay, witnessing his father hurt like this.
