ETA- DS got in a car accident last night, He is Ok, car is in the shop with some serious suspension problems. Hit a curb and guard rail, buckled the wheels right under. Waiting on the estimate. Missed dinner with a few BYC friends. Gotta love kids!
I am just glad he is ok!
As Ron said, you can replace a car, you can't replace a kid. So true!!!

I would doubt that you will do a lot of business at our show since most of the exhibitors would have been to Stevenson and we have very few walk-ins. Ours is more of a poultry show and less of a craft sale.

I can see the writing on the wall. Typical Lewis County (and sadly I live there).
Doesn't look like I will be doing anything to support them. Including the raffle donation I had coming from a local business.

if they have three-row combs, from my line ... they are cockerels

single row combs are the girls

that seems to hold up for ALL the EEs from Privett Hatchery lines

no experience with anything else .. but I read the what-breed-what-gender and saw several other Privett chicks with the same situation

Hey, I'm fine with that- I was offering to give the cockerels away with a sack of feed, remember: I have plenty of meat, small amounts of money, little time, and very limited energy levels.

We tried to get a bigger bin, but I can't close the bathroom door with the next size up, and I've got nowhere I can throw up a hoop house and heat it quickly- or do it at all right now, give that I'm flirting with pneumonia, and my only dedicated helper is in Europe until the 30th.

I've been actively trying to get rid of all but four or five of these guys since they were hatched, but nobody in the family is interested. Although my next-door cousin probably has enough chickens right now, thus:

(taken during the 67 minutes it wasn't raining today).

ETA: this isn't all of them, there were roosters crowing up in his coop and some more hens flew over the fence into the orchard later.
