Sheep pen blew down and I need to go retrieve him and stick him in the greenhouse before I've got no small roses left, but I'm discovering just how little hurry I've got in me these days- ate half my breakfast, stood up to dress, and nearly puked it all back up.

NOT my favorite sort of day.

All my mad-spider chicken housing is fine, though, it's all built to vent and below grade; the sheep was right out in the middle of the yard in full exposure to the wind and his tarp acted like a sail. Going to be a pure beast to get it ack up and square. UGH.

Illia has a pic of the week!

I guess we had some rain here overnight, but there must not have been much wind. We left our patio table umbrella up (whoops) and it's still standing.

Ok. Ive had to make a very hard choice. My husband has been giving me loads of bull over the chickens. They still arent laying, Im puting out money that we cant afford, AND its already getting diffacult to take care of everyone and everything here at home. SO. The Wheaten and Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas need to find a new home.

I just cant do it all by myself anymore, and have no one willing here at home to help me with all the critters. That and Im not going to fit through the run door much longer. They are all healthy, a bit muddy, but well fed, and friendly. I have 6 POL Pullets, and 2 younger cockerals a Wheaten and a Blue Wheaten.

I wanted to offer them to you all here first before posting them on CL or putting them in the BST section of the thread...

This has not been a pleasant or easy thing to come to terms with. And I am not overly happy about it. BUT I have to be realistic and I know I have to much on my plate.
Even my almost 3yr old filly is more than likely going to have to go as well... Im fairly sure I have her squared away in a lease/training situation with my cousin...

From the info I got he was packing the head/horns out and somehow fell down a bad rock slide. I was told that part of the reason it took long was that the rock slide was very steep and they looked from the top and both sides. But since he landed behind a log they were not able to see him until the helo was able to fly and look up the slide. Please keep in mind this just what was relayed to me from 2 people who were there.
As for how does one person get an elk to the truck? Well us redneck logger types get pretty creative. Winches, Huge spools of rope mounted in the back of pickup's, Horse, ATV, And of course bone it out and strap it on a pack board.
