Hey any diabetics out there who would like to have a 70 minute every day that you could eat ANYTHING you want. PM me I can put you in touch with an eating program that will allowyou to do this. Now keep in mind I am VERY skeptical when it comes to this kind of stuff but this is proving itself with DW right now. There is nothing "special" to but it is just eating right. You will be amazed how your #'s will come into line. I have nothing to gain other than helping others by sharing this.

I like the apple trick Ron. And I just realized a couple of weeks ago that those suet cages were good for greens in the run. I was worried about days I had to keep everyone locked up and wanted to make sure they had some veggies. Hanging the suet cage just made it more fun for them to play tether veggies" all day. I was pretty pleased to have figured this one thing on my own. That's a good tip to share CR.

CR
I'll try the suet cage thing

another thing I did was hang up an old cargo net ( that went in my stationwagon) under cover in the run and filled it with alfafa. girls enjoy that too.

Well got to get the chickens OUT of the HOUSE and back into the barn

But wanted to share - after almost a month with no eggs - we finally got an egg today! From the large size and color I am pretty sure it was from Juno, our Jersey Giant broody mama that kicked the chicks out about a week ago. We haven't had any eggs from her since early August!

One of the pullets is also squatting and her comb is getting redder. Here's hoping soon! She is one of the girls I got from a hatchery - so her egg color will be a surprise.

Yay finally!

Since I know many of you may not be on here tomorrow. I would like to wish you all a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!! asright now it loks like our plans to go th DW's moms is falling apart so I am going to take out a chicken and try my best to make a decent back up plan. See tomorrow is also DW's b day. Just gonna go at it like eating an elephant one bite at a time!!

Canada doesn't officially celebrate USA Thanksgiving but quite a few of the locals are saying Happy Thanksgiving to all and sundry, anyway

they may not know exactly when that date is, but they are into the spirit of it (Canada has a Thanksgiving but it's a different date)

grocery stores are featuring turkey ... in their ads ... Ingrid's cooks were starting turkey soup tonight to serve tomorrow

I'm hoping to find a slice of mince pie == pumpkin is easy, mince is not ===

but for dinner tonight I did have a great turkey-burger sandwich with cranberry relish and cucumber inside a great organic herbal multigrain bun

I carefully resisted getting a Nanaimo Bar ..... oh those are good, but you need to have been skiing all day to afford the calories

will do my best to get pix of the rooster statuettes (one of them IS polkadotted) -- also they put rooster pictures beside one of the chalkboard menu boards, and there's also a rooster on a wall plaque ... very German/Austrian/BlackForest-y

no word from DS so I suspect he dealt with the rain on the chicken run ... more than likely the flock stayed in the coop all the time anyway

OK so color me redneck logger type but where is Covington (area). And Thanks Greg for sharing that.

Covington is one of those Insta Towns that happen when you run a road through the middle of nowhere. Maple Valley cut off (aka Hwy 18) at Kent-Kangley Road, basically, nothing there more than twenty years old. Not a long long way to T-Hi's kid's school, but actually not very close to anything.
