I had a rabbit fur hat and muff when I was a little girl. It was lovely and soft. A bedspread is only good if no one has allergies. We bought alpaca throws for the beds once. They ended up as throw rugs on the floors because of allergies.

There's nothing exciting happening in the incubator. Maybe they're all duds after all.

I've been concerned about having Ian fly up in my face when I let them out of the coop in the morning, but so far, no matter what kind of fuss he's making while I'm opening the gate, when I drop the pop door (latched with another of the two-handed spring clamps) he straightens up, shakes his feathers to order, and walks down the ramp with all the dignity of a bishop leading the Palm Sunday procession.
