Oh wow, I just looked up Outlook, WA on Google, and you are out in the middle of nowhere! No wonder you aren't too worried about prices.

Hubby and I, and another friend, we sell Scovies and get really good prices, especially around this time of the year. I think there must be a number of Asian holidays, because we sold out our drakes in less than a week. The ad on Craigs List was taken down the same day I put it up! And, there was so much demand, they even bought some ducks, which being smaller aren't very much prized.

Also of interest, the more red caruncles round the eyes and on the face, the more they will pay. I'm not sure why, perhaps it's because "red" in China is good luck! In any event, we are going to try doubling our hatching next year, since we did so well this year.

These are some of mine (do you have a site? I'd love to see yours)

BTW I will have a (nearly) empty enclosed trailer there that will be available to BYCer's for things like bird holding cage transfers or ????.

Sorry CR, nothin that lays eggs!! I have a bunch of roos and scovie drakes. I have a nice BLRW roo and two nice black orp roos (4hpoultrymoms) along with two lav orp roos, (from same place) and a c...load of Buff orp roos from TX! came from my first incubator test run. They are all nice birds, I just figured if I'm coming up anyway, I will bring what ever I can to sell and see what I can get. I just need to do some decisive planning next year, or make more runs up that way if it is more profitable.

Pfui. Our folding lawn chairs bit the dust, and the not-folding ones don't fit in the car. Oh, well, I can only be there for a short while, anyway.

I will be there on Saturday - don't know exact times -- I can bring a few extra chairs

"Fudge" as a baby (named for how brown he was as a youngster):

(waves weakly).

Well, the daughter is in Detroit, and has already gone through customs, so the pick-up at SeaTac should be as easy as anything involving going to SeaTac at 5pm can be.

I did my Least Favorite Thing today, got up and dressed and did the absolutely necessary first-thing-in-the-morning chores and then came in and got undressed and washed my hair, because I am sans cook stove and will therefore either be cooking on the camp stove or the BBQ tonight, both of which involve being outside or eating out, which involves going outside and then being in public, so, no wet hair after about five. I can scarf up all day and my head won't be too cold, but I have nightmare visions of the women of my mother's generation who used to go out to eat in curlers and scarves, and... no. just no.

So now I get to get dressed again, feed the chickies and the outside chickens and take care of a couple weatherization projects on the actual people-house that got delayed due to chickens, fiddle with the north-wind protection on everything including the sheep, and keep working on the pile of laundry which never goes away this time of year. Ugh.
