2. as a thought from messing with fur i was wondering if it is possible to preserve chicken skin with the feathers.... how is it done? yes i had the thought to modify a coat to have chicken feathers on it.... and i am not just thinking about the saddle and hackel... i am thinking all but the wings....... think of how pretty our birds are with the many patterns and colors.... non of that has ever been replicated in fashion... (maybe because its a chicken.... but still)

Well, if you can tan other skins you "should" be able to tan chicken skins. There are a lot of south American tribes that use chicken feathers, perhaps they have a way to tan the skins and use them.

so yeah..... i have been sewing and studying and am currently behind on a lab report on botrytis decay in apples.....

Aha, Noble Rot! Makes wonderful desert wines, but didn't know apples could get it too?​

So we are done here...all birds loaded but the turkey.
I washed him again with plain warm water & think he will pass.........hopefully his tail feathers fluff, this morning they were clumped as if sticky or greasy, probably did not get all the tide off.
Hopefull y he passes as he is going !
Got the Javas & Buckeyes loaded & the white rock hen is still in the kitchen & will be loaded in the AM.
ALL the food is done, shrimps done, oysters smoked & done, salad made, dressing & cocktail sauce done & just waiting to load that.
I am egg----zausted

Hopefully get to bed early & up in time to haul the buns down there!
Planning on arriving about *:30 at the latest!
My Buck & Java cockerals are fiesty!!!!!!!!
They are NOT happy at all.
This is their first time caged & they are MAD!!!!!!
Gotta be very careful getting them from crate to cage...seriously!

Oh yeah, Icelandics will be loaded in the morning...they will not be cleaned & primped just Eprinex & loaded up.

I just dashed out to the run, to nudge the chickens into the coop for the night, since DH is not yet back from town

and I checked the nest box

EGGS ! pink, OLIVE, MINT, AQUA, and STONE-colored eggs !!!

so: Ginger, Becky, Anitra or Phoebe, Deirdre, and Christina left me presents

I guess they might have finished molting (will check them out next time the sun is out and I'm here)

Roopert, meanwhile, landed a nasty peck on the top of my head as I leaned down to check

that roo may be living on borrowed time; Dana says the little cockerels she hatched out are MUCH better behaved

chances are, I'll get to see them at the Chehalis show

Yes!
AND my table will be by the Faverolles Club table (usually) and have my ice chest (blue & white) on top...will try & make a BYC sign.
I may be rolling around too...or walking, who knows?

You oughta see me in shorts (cuz of the brace) a sweat shirt & coat (cuz it is cold) and snow boots (Sorels up to mid calf cuz they have such great traction)
I look ALL MIXED UP!!!!!!!!!

Edited to add: A camo dress, my daughter would wear black fish net stockings (seam in the back) and doc martins!

Sorry CL, I'm not going to do the table.....I was going to, but I'm going to be a zombie, I'm getting ready now to leave for work, and will be there until 3am. Luckily DH is going to drive so I can sleep on the way up, but I really want to just hang out this time around, and I am out of time to print brochures, etc....
