I have a son of this drake and he is currently solid black (he's young) and just AWESOME. He is eye candy and I adore him. I'm imagining all the mutant-size babies he will hopefully produce and how delicious the culls will be (mmmmmmmmmmmm!!)

Pettec- Looking forward to helping each other out. Glad I could teach you how to pick up your drakes without needing body armour.

Cool!! Yea same here! I REALLY appreciate that!! (so did my trashed hands)!! I used the technique to move the ones I traded and it worked like a charm!! I learned so much from you this weekend!! Thank you!!

I was impressed by how beautiful the black ducks were. it's a good thing I don't have water for ducks.

Didn't I take a picture of you...? I think someone pointed you out to me, but maybe that's as far as it got.

Someone ...Candy? Mrs. CR? snapped a picture of me...haven't seen that yet!

am sure that was me --- I'm not sure if Diane (Mrs CR) was taking pictures too

it's a new (to me) camera, from the thrift store up at Whistler, and I haven't figured out how to download the pictures yet

(my Sony, that I took the pictures of the dog and my chickens, ran out of memory; I need a memory stick)

some of the Chehalis pictures didn't turn out very well; after I read the camera reviews on Amazon, I realized why -- the flash on that one is --- mmm, not so good --- probably why it was in the thrift store though functional ...

also it takes AA batteries, and seems to be picky about wanting the high dollar super power ones ... not my brand new Kirkland-brand ones

I tried to get a picture of everyone I could identify as being a BYCer ... but am sure I missed several people ...

Can't you just download the pics then clear the memory? That is what I do with mine. I clear and re-format every time I DL. Which is every time I take pics.

the pictures I want to KEEP, I am saving in that camera at present; I don't trust computers to remember things -- have had several hard drives die, or power supplies fail, or files get corrupted

as soon as I figure out how to move those pictures onto a CD-ROM (preferably several of them), then I can indeed clear the memory

I cannot find my Photobucket account either -- I know it's THERE, but I cannot remember which email address I used to set it up, and the password I thought I had used for it, does not work (maybe I ought to set up a second account there, but I've had quite a few things to do around here, that didn't get done while we were in Chehalis)

Uh oh. Did you ever get that Cochin boy back out with his feathered friends? You're going to get a reputation. Chickens and ducks from all around are going to come live at your hospitable bed and breakfast!

pics when you can!! its soooo quiet here.... lol. if you wrap the crate like a christmas present, and make sure all the ends are secured and tucked under the crate so it CANT flap in the wind. they should be fine. wont even get a breeze on them wrapped up like that. very nice of CR to loan you a crate!

actually I had it in my trailer at the show and didn't want that little guy to be too crowded so Isold it to here for what I hope was a fair price. Why do I need 3 of those Cages when I also have airporters.

Very fair price. Thank you very much.

Hey - everyone I made it home. Just to tired last night to get on here. No more incidents other than DD and I were getting "owly" as we were so tired.

I took photos of the new kids and will try to post them tonight. They rode in the front of the truck until Wenatchee. It was around 22 when I left Yakima and that was just too cold. By the time I hit Wenatchee it was around 40...much warmer. I got them home, took the cage out of the truck and hauled them to their new pen. I had used the Wheelbarrel to carry the cage. As I opened up their cage and got a few things ready...they checked out their surroundings. First thing that Gimpy (now Quincy) did was crow. A few minutes later Adam (the serama) crowed and Gimpy (now Quincy) did not crow again.

DH had the layers out Free ranging in the yard. They all came up to check out the "new kids"....one of my BRs actually tried to pick a fight through the fence with Gimpy (now Quincy)....of course I think this is the one I saw try to crow (another story).

Names: Well DD and I on the way home threw around a bunch of names. We happen to be turning and coming into Quincy and Gimpy started to talk to us (still in the cab of the truck) and I made some comment to him and accidentally called him Quincy as that was the name in my head as we had just got into "Quincy". From there we thought of other names of towns we have been through/in in the past couple of days. So Gimpy is now Quincy....1 pullet is Ellensburg (Ellen for short) and the other is Chehalis (Che' for short).

So...Quincy, Ellen, and Che' seemed to have all setteled in okay.

how cool was that that you had one in your trailer she could buy? very cool!! lol the little guy...he isnt done growing yet either. ..

4312 I did the same thing!! when I got hoss...I had to go out and cut the pop door bigger because he could not get thru it. Hoss took up almost half the 500 wire crate when I got him, giant bird, I sure hope his blue son turns out like him. cant wait for pics of all three when they are settled in

'
I took photos....just need time to put them on. Had to cut the poop door twice the size we had originally done. my DH was astonished on how big he is. He crowed a few times....but then Adam the Serama crowed. Gimpy (now Quincy) quit. ......
