That is a fairly good deal. But if you are selling your eggs legally, you have to have new cartons that have your farms name and info on it. I had the license to sell, but I really don't have enough eggs to sell all the time. I was also going to have to have a utility sink installed. You are not supposed to clean the eggs in your personal kitchen. You are required to have a separate sink for the eggs. I would love to have a utility sink, but I still don't know where I have the space to do it,

NOTE key words here "supposed to" and I am sure everybody that sells eggs goes through all this bs.

That is where I am. I was able to get a very large batch of egg cartons, with the help of TomatoLady. We drove out to Ashland to pick them up. The lady out there add salvaged the egg cartons from a dumpster. They do have a major local egg producers name on the carton. I should make labels for my cartons. If I did end up selling at farmers market, I would get blank cartons and add my own label. For me it's not worth the worry. But I have been getting about 3.50 a dozen.

Your Lana looks so much like my Achmed the Terrifying Terrorist.

I like the steps; that's something I could put together for them more easily than the cat trees I've been looking at. I may try to do a Catio this summer, although the space that would work best from a construction perspective would need a lot of tailored holes for the landscaping.

Thank you. We call the stairs "The stairway to heaven." After all the cat food is up there. I asked DH to solve the problem of keeping the nasty little dogs out of the cat food. We made it together. DH and I work very well as a team. He did the wood work and and I did the finish work. Achmed is once again using the Stairway.

The puppies had gotten very good at chasing him away. But that cat really need to be part of the family, and seems to need a Mama snuggle every once in awhile. It can be rather unnerving when I am not expecting it. The cat knows how to plaster himself all over me. I do love the very nutty animals that live with me.

how much for the caponization do you think? and would it work on older then 1 month boys?
Think anyone could teach me to capon?

btw I just updated my BYC webpage in have photos of my girls/goats etc...

Tis the season for "SNUGGIES" lol

That reminds me, was watching a channel a few days ago that was advertising a new snuggie like thing but it's oversized and you wear it like one piece fleece pajamas over your cloths, zips up the front and even has a tail flap for going to the bathroom. The add was hilarious. Not so bad for women but it showed a group of men wearing them at a tailgate party at a football game. Outdoors in public! At a football game? Ya, right. They suggested you had a few extra on hand for guests to wear when they come over for a visit! I just can't imagine men even coming close to thinking about putting one of those on. And how would you convince your guests to put one on at a party! That group of men wearing those was a sight to see. Gave me the giggles. Cheap thrills I guess.

Someday I am going to need to scan the picture of me 8 months pregnant with DD. I was wearing a one piece jammies, with feet. I had at least 2 of these toddler jammies when I got married. They were a lot of fun.

Albie said he would do it for free. It is just about getting the birds to him. I have his phone number.

Yes I remember that. That was when I first met you when you brought me Buggs, Woody and a bunch of those cartons. In fact we still havea couple dozen left in recirculation.
Also as I understand the rules are much different for off site egg sales than they are for from the farm sales.

These two auctions down here are in a real nasty battle against each other. The one at yard birds takes 20% and I was told the one up coal creek takes 15%. RedRooster Farm told me that she gets more for LF up coal creek and more for bantam at yard birds. I know that from what I have heard it sounds like the locals prefer the yard birds sale.

are either auction places by the train station? maybe I could come down with some birds for auction via train?

If you could get to Auburn on the Sounder, I could pick you up and we could drive down together. What I don't know is if the birds can ride with you on the train, or if the Sounder runs on Saturday. The Amtrak stops in Tacoma, and that would be another place to meet.

Yes that is true about the on site, and the off site sales of eggs. I just wish that one or two of the neighbors here would be willing to buy some of my eggs. My DMiL does buy some of my eggs, but I don't like to count on that.

I am so tired of the ice on my concrete patio. It is scary on the North side of my house. I have not been traveling from the garage to the back yard. I feel safer going through the house. At least I can get to the coop and the girls, without the fear of falling.
