It's helpers like this that take the sleigh off course who cause the jolly elf to be late. Why would he think it was OK to drive across the lawn.

who has Jubilee's in Washington? I have BBS english.

I know someone in Port Orchard that is planning on breeding them. He buys Ex Blacks from me. I think he bought Jubilee birds from Greenfire but waiting for Spring to start hatching so probably not the person they are talking about.

He is also doing the Lemon Cuckoo but I haven't seen any I like the type of and I haven't seen any hens yet that are Barred.

I can't wait for my new Generation of Lavs to hatch and grow. I'm not sure what generation you call it, depends on how you count them. Either 6 or 7? Anyway, the splits I have are gorgeous so expecting the babes to be also. I might go one more generation. I still have some Korfus EX Blacks. Just waiting to see how they turn out first.

No he was just being S T U PID. Instead of backing out 50' that he just drove in. He tried to mash the throttle and go right across the lawn. That just added 3 hours to his day by the time 2 supers came out and then got a tow truck. Plus he is REALLY in trouble with the company. Seems he has a lot of less than good history.

in Yelm it is safe to drive across the lawn (right, Broodytood?? ) ... but then, we allowed the native grass to seed itself in this sandy gravelly rocky conglomerate known as "the yard"

standard grass seed would never grow here; clover is marginal, dandelions and plantains just love it

luckily the chickens far prefer the stuff that chooses to grow here, rather than the cultivated grass tended by the next door neighbor

(they do like his fallen apples, however)

also means we have very few moles or gophers, since they like worms but worms don't like this relatively-infertile soil

next year I will think about getting worms for my compost .. and for chicken treats

You know, I don't expect people to be able to track a fruitfly through a blizzard at night

, but I do hope that they can, in general, tell the difference between dirt driveway and soft lawn.

Or as my dad ALSO said, there's no longer way around than a bad short-cut.

Well I am some umpteen pages behind and my DS...dear-dear son...BLAMMOED my computer last night. It picked up a nasty virus...DH got cranky while working on it last night. I asked the IT guys here at the hospital about it...he is going to give me some pointers and if we are unable to fix it over the weekend...the very-very nice IT gentleman said he would fix it for me.....

So I will be out of touch for awhile....

Behave without me.
CR don't get in trouble.
CL stay off the leg.
And the rest of you behave.

See you later......
...Oh, I'm on work computer and I now have to go back to work...my 1/2 hour lunch is over.

Some places it is, yes, but there are potholes where you can sink up to your axles all of a sudden, too- anywhere within a couple of hundred feet of Yelm Creek is suspect, and anywhere there's ever been a dairy barn: squoosh, sploosh, call the tow truck.

Very true and NOBODY has figured out why he deemed it OK to drive across the lawn. Seems they hads just talked that morning about making good decisions. Looks like that talk failed to penetrate his bone head ! ! ! This guy had to make a hard right between trees to get onto the lawn and then it was clear he had his foot to the floor by the way the tires were spinning as they left the gravel driveway.
